In transformers, text is first broken into tokens, which are small pieces such as whole words or sub-words. Each token is turned into a vector (a list of numbers) that represents its meaning. The attention mechanism then looks at all tokens in a sentence at the same time and learns which ones are important to each other. For every token, the model assigns attention weights that show how strongly it should “pay attention” to other tokens when understanding the current one. This helps the model capture context by letting tokens share information. For example, the model can know what the word “it” refers to in a sentence with other contextual information. The output is a richer, context-aware representation of the text that the model can use to predict the next word, answer a question, or perform other language tasks, and is why transformers are the main model behind most LLMs. #machinelearning #datascience #LLMs #deeplearning #neuralnetworks

O sistema, chamado CL1, funciona com cerca de 200 mil neurônios cultivados sobre um microchip, formando uma espécie de computador biológico. Essas células recebem sinais do jogo e respondem com sua própria atividade elétrica, ajustando gradualmente seu comportamento enquanto aprendem a se mover pelo ambiente. Anteriormente, o mesmo sistema já havia sido treinado para jogar Pong, um jogo muito mais simples. Agora, ele consegue interagir com um ambiente 3D significativamente mais complexo. Apesar de os neurônios ainda estarem em um estágio inicial de aprendizado, a tecnologia pode abrir caminho para novas formas de estudar doenças neurológicas, testar medicamentos e compreender melhor como a inteligência surge em sistemas biológicos.
