JOGhostly white supercell towers rage in the cool moonlight, flickering away with the immense energy of the low-low level jet that‘s transporting tropical air across the Plains right into these storms. I‘m an absolute sucker for a good lightning-show and this one exceeded all my expectations for even a busier night of storms. The air was crystal clear, making observing these beasts incredible, as any distance worked for man hours. Multiple times we were really close, decided to move far away, then closed in once more, something a conveyor belt of supercells of this class can only accomplish. I‘m cutting a video of this day right now, where I‘ll tell more of the story to this awesome experience, and show some of the insane lightning rates in real-time - better be excited for that!
