Pivot Table and Pivot Chart, this is one of the easiest class I have had since the beginning of the training.
In excel, you will think of the functions to use in solving the research questions, from one step to another, before getting the final answer but in pivot table and pivot chart, you drag the values to the area and axis you have to place them base on the research question and you have your answer.
Our tutor Mr Owen Tamuno Gilbert told us he would have showed us the easy way to answer the research questions which is using the pivot table and pivot chart, but he wanted us to first get acquainted with using excel to solve problems.
Below are some of the research questions answered from the geographical sales dataset using pivot table and pivot chart:
*Total unit sold by each sales person
*Total unit sold by each sales person by geography
*Average profit made by each sales person
*Percentage amount generated by each sales person
*Percentage of each persons profit from total profit
*Percentage made by sales person base on geography
In pivot table and pivot chart, you can change Sum to Percentage using the value field setting when calculating the percentage of a value.
Going through the easy route is ok but starting from the foundation is much better because it gives a clear understanding of the next step.
