So why don’t I ever work on S when there’s a lateral lisp? Because it’s so much easier to teach a “new” sound rather than explain to how to “fix” or “tweak” a sound they’ve habituated in error.
That’s why my Lateral Lisp Deck from @bjoremspeech by has an ❌ thru the 🐍… because I’m NOT trying to correct their “snake sound” (AKA: lateral S), I’m teaching them a new sound altogether… the “flat tire” sound (AKA: non-lateralized S). 🛞💨
I’ve used this method with 3-year-olds through adults with tons of success… including several family members 😅.
