ASit’s the first couple of mistakes I see when coaching beginners..
1️⃣ STOP 🛑 looking down at the board at take off to see if you’ve scratched or not!! That’s your coaches job, so trust your coach to move your mark accordingly. Looking down kills your momentum off the board and causes you to jump straight down into the pit. So just stop that nonsense.
2️⃣ How fast you run the first half of your approach doesn’t matter if you’re getting to the board slower than how you started. You should be full speed AT the board. So build your approach according to this method. Count steps if you need to like I do.
3️⃣ Run off the board… and I mean put the foot down underneath you (not in front of you) and go. Do not be afraid to scratch - like I did in this practice jump. Attack the board as fast as you can.🏃♀️
