McDaniel College long snapper Gus Kemp made the trip to Eau Claire, WI to chase perfection. Gus and I have been working together for a few years now, and the growth has been real. One area that kept showing up was his hand action through the snap. His non-dominant hand was rotating the wrong way, so he learned to make it work with one hand. It got the ball spinning, but it limited his speed and control. We spent a big part of this session cleaning that up. Slowing everything down, using different implements, and dialing in what the movement should actually feel like. Once he understood it and felt it, things started to click. From there, we focused on creating better length in his stance to clean up his sequencing. A lot of guys try to create leverage by overextending and locking out their arms. Real leverage comes from how you move, not just how you set up. Once Gus got into a better starting position, the difference in his ball speed was immediate. Another big step forward for Gus. Excited to keep helping him chase perfection. $100 off Razor Pads – Visit STU Shop 15% off Wilson FB – “Stelter-270” 15% off Vivo Barefoot – “Kyle Stelter” $15 off Football Green Book – “fgb25” 10% off Light Helmets – “LIGHT10” 10% off Net Return – https://www.thenetreturn.com/SpecialTeamsU 10% off Fringe Red Light – “CoachStelter” #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsu

Blinn Junior College long snapper Chase Schubert made the trip to Eau Claire WI to chase perfection! Chase picked up snapping recently to increase his stock and his chances of playing D1 football. When we met we discussed his background and focus so far with snapping and noticed we were not on the same page thought process wise. One of the first things we noticed was his high level of effort and very quick movement. Most snappers attribute an extremely quick movement with fast and accurate snaps. If you’ve studied sports and movement, you would know that is exactly the opposite. His whole career he had been working up hill instead of becoming efficient. We took him through drills that helped him slow down, relax, and be smooth. This seemed counter intuitive but led him to snap a faster more consistent ball! Whenever you’re doing something new, there’s always a level of discomfort. Make sure you give it time and you’ll see yourself on the other side! Chase did a great job and I’m looking forward to continuing to help him chase perfection! $100 off Razor Pads - Visit STU Shop 15% off Wilson FB - “Stelter-270” 15% off Vivo Barefoot - “Kyle Stelter” $15 off Football Green Book - “fgb25” 10% off Light Helmets - “LIGHT10” 10% off Net Return - https://www.thenetreturn.com/SpecialTeamsU 10% off Fringe Red Light - “CoachStelter” #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsu

Canadian long snapper Jake Deneka made the trip to Eau Claire WI to chase perfection! Jake plays for the University of Manitoba and wants to improve his skill to eventually take a shot at the CFL! During our eval we noticed that Jake was a very aggressive snapper and tried to launch his body toward the target to create velocity. This was backfiring and was not only limiting his speed, but also crushing his consistency. We really focused on his ability to control his body. Staying grounded, using his core, and being aware of landmarks made a huge difference. Once he had a good understanding we moved to flow and sequencing. When you create a flow and accelerate your movement, the results are night and day different! Jake did a great job and I’m excited to continue to help him chase perfection! $100 off Razor Pads - Visit STU Shop 15% off Wilson FB - “Stelter-270” 15% off Vivo Barefoot - “Kyle Stelter” $15 off Football Green Book - “fgb25” 10% off Light Helmets - “LIGHT10” 10% off Net Return - https://www.thenetreturn.com/SpecialTeamsU 10% off Fringe Red Light - “CoachStelter” #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsu

University of Michigan long snapper Nico Crawford made the trip to Eau Claire, WI to chase perfection. Nico and I started working together while he was at Pitt, and since then he’s transferred to Michigan and is locked in preparing for his final season. During this session we focused heavily on building a more efficient kinetic sequence and embracing the idea of flow over force. Many snappers believe they need to snap the ball as hard as possible, but that approach often leads to issues with consistency, ball flight, and overall speed. When the movement is smooth, efficient, and connected, the ball actually moves faster with less effort. Sometimes the drills or movements we use might look different if you’ve never trained this way before. But it’s worth asking why many of the top snappers in every conference, level, and league are using these same concepts and seeing real results. Movement science isn’t gimmicky. It’s simply understanding how the body works and how to apply that to the snap. Most athletes have never been taught this, and that’s okay. The key is starting with the right fundamentals and building from there. Nico made some big improvements during this session, and I’m excited to keep helping him chase perfection. $100 off Razor Pads – Visit STU Shop 15% off Wilson FB – “Stelter-270” 15% off Vivo Barefoot – “Kyle Stelter” $15 off Football Green Book – “fgb25” 10% off Light Helmets – “LIGHT10” 10% off Net Return – https://www.thenetreturn.com/SpecialTeamsU 10% off Fringe Red Light – “CoachStelter” #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsu

Duquesne long snapper Tyler Collins made the trip to Eau Claire WI to chase perfection! Tyler has been at Duquesne behind my other client Tyler Rieger who will do his Pro Day next week and wants to make sure he’s doing everything he can to lock down the starting role. This was Tyler’s first time seeing me and he made me aware he had never really trained his snapping, he simply snapped the ball. While that is very common, it makes a massive difference in any sport to train a specific movement and concepts rather than just doing the task and hoping you improve. We noticed that his mobility wasn’t great. Wrists, lats, shoulders, spine. All the pieces that you need to use to throw and snap were locked up. Tyler was getting by on athleticism and skill alone. We got him introduced to some movements that will help him unlock his body more and he will have to be consistent if he wants to see that change. We then turned our attention to flow. Tyler was use to trying to snap the ball as hard as he could. Because of this he was losing control over where the ball was going AND losing out on speed! After spending some time on his sequencing and slowing down a bit he was snapping a faster ball with less effort! It’s always great to see the smirk of someone who just discovered efficiency for the first time. It feels great as the player AND as the coach! I’m looking forward to continuing to help Tyler chase perfection! $100 off Razor Pads - Visit STU Shop 15% off Wilson FB - “Stelter-270” 15% off Vivo Barefoot - “Kyle Stelter” $15 off Football Green Book - “fgb25” 10% off Light Helmets - “LIGHT10” 10% off Net Return - https://www.thenetreturn.com/SpecialTeamsU 10% off Fringe Red Light - “CoachStelter” #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsu

Marshall long snapper Riley Winkler made the trip to Eau Claire, WI to chase perfection. Riley is new to the program and wanted to get hands-on work before getting back with his team. During our evaluation, we realized a lot of the cues he’d been using were actually working against him. That didn’t make him a bad snapper. It just meant he was relying more on athleticism than efficient technique. Once we gave him better rules to follow, consistency came a lot easier. We started with posture. When you start in a strong position, everything that follows becomes easier and more repeatable. From there, we focused on flow and sequencing. Riley wasn’t overly aggressive, but his movements were out of order. Think of it like a baseball throw. You always step before you throw! Too many snappers try to throw first, then step. In reality, the body moves first, then the ball. That sequence matters in every sport. Once he felt that, everything started to clean up. The ball came out more consistent, more efficient, and with less effort. Riley made big gains and is ready to build on them. Excited to keep helping him chase perfection. — $100 off Razor Pads – Visit STU Shop 15% off Wilson FB – “Stelter-270” 15% off Vivo Barefoot – “Kyle Stelter” $15 off Football Green Book – “fgb25” 10% off Light Helmets – “LIGHT10” 10% off Net Return – https://www.thenetreturn.com/SpecialTeamsU 10% off Fringe Red Light – “CoachStelter” #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsu

Kennesaw State University long snapper Ben Blanton made the trip to Eau Claire WI to chase perfection! Ben and I were able to meet for the first time at my Pro Prep Camp down in Florida. He got to experience what my coaching was like and decided that he wanted to get the full experience. During our eval we noticed that his hands, wrists, and upper body lacked mobility that would help him with ball speed and consistency. We started with rolling and hitting some different movements to loosen him up while getting him to feel what it was like to relax his body through movement rather than tense up. We then focused on body control and the feeling of being whippy! A lot of different movements and drills all geared toward helping him become more aware of his body helped him dial in. Ben did a great job of picking up on the details and I’m looking forward to continuing to help him chase perfection! $100 off Razor Pads - Visit STU Shop 15% off Wilson FB - “Stelter-270” 15% off Vivo Barefoot - “Kyle Stelter” $15 off Football Green Book - “fgb25” 10% off Light Helmets - “LIGHT10” 10% off Net Return - https://www.thenetreturn.com/SpecialTeamsU 10% off Fringe Red Light - “CoachStelter” #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsu

Ohio University long snapper Nick Hemer made the trip to Eau Claire WI to chase perfection! Nick wanted to improve his velocity and consistency. He struggled with these because he was sliding his feet and reaching as far through his legs as possible. Once we got him using his core and staying grounded he started to throw a pitch vs launching his body out of control. All of the drills we did worked him up gradually from the small details and landmarks to moving faster and with better intent! Building a foundation on facts and then building awareness and familiarity around it will help it actually stick. Nick did a great job! We have more work to do but I’m excited to continue to hold him to a high standard and continue to help him chase perfection! $100 off Razor Pads - Visit STU Shop 15% off Wilson FB - “Stelter-270” 15% off Vivo Barefoot - “Kyle Stelter” $15 off Football Green Book - “fgb25” 10% off Light Helmets - “LIGHT10” 10% off Net Return - https://www.thenetreturn.com/SpecialTeamsU 10% off Fringe Red Light - “CoachStelter” #longsnap #longsnapper #longsnapping #football #specialteamsu

When Selden first walked into VeloU, the delivery wasn’t the problem. At 6’4”, 212 pounds, he was already throwing upper 80s with one of the cleanest throwing patterns Coach Tom had seen in an evaluation. Sequencing was advanced, the arm action created excellent separation, and the delivery already worked. But the data pointed somewhere else. Selden had barely trained in the weight room before arriving. For a pitcher with his size and movement quality, the physical foundation was behind. His total shoulder strength score started around 150 pounds, well below what we expect for someone built like him. So the early plan wasn’t chasing velocity, it was building the foundation. The first half of the offseason focused on strength development, arm care structure, and lower half stability while keeping throwing intensity controlled. As the strength profile improved, the arm strength numbers climbed into the 90th percentile range for a 220-pound pitcher. Once the physical side caught up, the stuff started moving. The fastball jumped into the 92–93 range, and we added a low-to-mid 80s cutter to bridge the gap between his fastball and sweeper, giving him another weapon on both sides of the zone. The delivery was already there. Once the body caught up, the performance followed. That’s the difference between chasing velocity and building the pitcher behind it. #PitchingDevelopment #BaseballTraining #PitchDesign #VelocityDevelopment #VeloU
