Bandipora, Nov 10: The Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department Hajin today completed macadamization work at Kathpora Hajam Mohalla in Bandipora district, bringing relief and satisfaction to local residents.
Locals expressed their gratitude to the R&B Department for undertaking the long-pending work, stating that they had been waiting for road macadamization for nearly two decades.
Speaking to the media, residents said, “We have been waiting for macadamization for the past 20 years. Today, our long-standing demand has finally been fulfilled, and we are thankful to the R&B Department Hajin for taking this initiative.”
The locals further mentioned that the road had been in a dilapidated condition for years, causing immense inconvenience to commuters and residents alike. They also requested the authorities to macadamize the remaining stretches of the road that are still in poor condition to ensure smooth connectivity for the entire area.

AEE R&B Ganderbal, Soleh Shah, said the road was damaged due to its steep slope and frequent use by heavy trucks. He assured that the road will be repaired with a fresh layer of macadam soon.

Kulgam, — In a significant development for the residents of Behbroda Bolsoo District Development Council (DDC) Member from Qaimoh-B, Mohd Abass Rather, inaugurated the long-awaited macadamization of the village's interior roads today. The initiative received widespread appreciation from the villagers, who credited senior CPI(M) leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, for addressing their persistent plea.
