Closing out the day with a stitch demo to commemorate “World Embroidery Day”. I learned this “worm stitch” from Selena Ben during a Making Zen online retreat, this stitch is totally new to me after 50+ years of embroidering. I first learned to embroidery around the age of 9 or 10 from my wonderful aunt Julie, who spent many hours teaching me hand sewing techniques, including embroidery and crewel. I can remember sitting at the end of her bed with a view out the bay window to the street below, spending many quiet hours together, learning to create beauty with my hands. Her patience and creativity was a gift that I appreciate every day.
