APA title doesn’t make someone a leader!
There is a massive difference between a Leader and a person with a fancy title.
Here are 7 red flags that they were never actually taught how to lead:
1. The “CC” Obsession: They need to be on every single email thread because they don’t trust the process and you.
2. Feedback is a One-Way Street: They give “constructive criticism” but get defensive the second you provide upward feedback.
3. The “Urgency” Addiction: Everything is a priority. If everything is urgent, nothing is.
4. They call a 30-minute meeting for something that could have been a 2-sentence Slack message.
5. They use “I” when things go right and “You” when things go wrong.
6. Vague Expectations: They tell you to “just make it look better” but can’t define what “better” actually means.
7. They disappear for a week and then reappear with 10 “urgent” tasks at 4:45 PM on a Friday.
