I thought I was just โ€œa good personโ€ anyway. hereโ€™s what I stopped doing and my life changed. 1. People pleasing I really thought being nice to everyone would make people like me and somehow make me magnetic. lol. People pleasing is just fear of not being liked, and people can smell it. Once they see youโ€™re insecure, they know exactly how to use it. 2. Chasing clarity Confusion is a manipulatorโ€™s favorite tool. They stay vague so you keep chasing, asking, waiting. I stopped asking for clarity when I realized I already understood the game. 3. Ignoring my intuition Not once. Not a single time have I ignored my gut and not regretted it later. your intuition is data. stop gaslighting it. 4. Oversharing and overtalking This one was HARD because Iโ€™m naturally outspoken. But life taught me this, the more you talk, the more exposed you are. Youโ€™re not just sharing thoughts. Youโ€™re giving information. and information always gets used. 5. Giving more than I receive Manipulative people love to take and hate to give. They sound sweet, ask for favors, drain you quietly. Now I say no more than yes. and I learned one rule that changed everything for me, be useless to someone. If they still treat you the same, theyโ€™re real. 6. Letting people rush me Fake urgency is a classic trick. They push so you donโ€™t think. Their urgency is not my emergency. I take my time now. Always. 7. Forgive and forget No. I donโ€™t forgive people who knew better and did it anyway. I donโ€™t forget lessons that cost me my peace. I moved on. Thatโ€™s enough. 8. The โ€œI donโ€™t play gamesโ€ mindset Life IS a game. Refusing to learn the rules doesnโ€™t make you pure, it makes you easy. I got played because I didnโ€™t know how things worked. Now I do. and I play when I have to.
