Homeschool testing week starts today!! We will be taking the MAP test through NWEA on the iPad at home. There is a proctor online that oversees the test but I am ultimately the only physical proctor present. Today is the science test. Science isn’t required for homeschool testing but we choose to do it for our own records. MAP Test가 어려운 이유는 다음과 같습니다. 1. 컴퓨터 적응형 시험 (Adaptive Test) MAP 시험은 문제를 맞히면 난이도가 상승하고, 틀리면 쉬워지는 적응형 시스템을 사용합니다. ✅ 쉬운 문제를 맞히면 → 더 어려운 문제가 나옴 ❌ 어려운 문제를 틀리면 → 쉬운 문제가 나옴 ➡️ 따라서 모든 학생이 본인의 실력보다 살짝 어려운 문제를 계속 풀게 되기 때문에 시험이 어렵게 느껴질 수 있음. 2. 문제 유형이 다양하고 생소함 MAP Test는 단순한 객관식 문제가 아니라, 비판적 사고와 문제 해결력을 요구하는 문제가 많습니다. ✏ 주요 과목: (1) Reading (독해) 긴 지문을 읽고 핵심 아이디어 파악 어휘력 & 문맥 이해 필요 추론형 문제 다수 포함 (2) Math (수학) 단순 계산이 아니라 문제 해결 능력 요구 그래프 해석, 응용 문제 포함 문제 유형이 다양하여 연습 부족 시 어려움 (3) Language Usage (언어 활용 - 어법과 어휘) 문법, 문장 구조, 작문 평가 문법적 오류 찾기, 문장 순서 배열 문제 포함 (4) Science (과학, 일부 학교에서만 실시) 과학적 개념과 논리적 사고 평가 실험 결과 분석 문제 포함 ➡️ 단순 암기가 아니라, 논리적 사고력과 문제 해결 능력이 필요하기 때문에 어렵게 느껴질 수 있음. 3. 시간 제한이 없어도 집중력이 필요함 MAP Test는 시간 제한이 없지만, 문제 수가 많고 난이도가 점점 높아지기 때문에 긴장감이 큼. 📌 Reading: 긴 지문을 여러 개 읽어야 해서 집중력 필요 📌 Math: 어려운 문제를 풀면서 풀이 과정을 논리적으로 생각해야 함 📌 Language Usage: 문법 규칙을 적용해야 해서 주의 깊게 읽어야 함 ➡️ 장시간 집중력이 필요한 시험이라서 학생들이 부담을 느낄 수 있음. 4. 성적이 상대적 평가로 적용될 수 있음 MAP Test 결과는 RIT Score라는 점수로 나오며, 같은 학년 학생들의 평균과 비교됩니다. MAP test ready, KC Wolf style 🏈 On April 18, the gymnasium at Wilson's Creek Intermediate School was nearly as loud as Arrowhead Stadium. To celebrate students’ hard work and get them excited for MAP testing, Wilson’s Creek hosted a pep rally, which included music, games, friendly competition and a surprise visit from a special guest. “Your teachers have worked very hard to prepare you for this, so I know you’ll do well,” said principal Dr. Ron Woodard at the assembly. Then, he introduced the mystery guest: Kansas City Chiefs mascot KC Wolf. “Bringing KC Wolf to the event was a total surprise for the students. They had no idea!” said Dr. Woodard. “The purpose of the assembly was to celebrate the hard work that our students and staff members have put into preparing for the MAP assessment. This was a fun way to let the students know that we support them and we applaud their efforts.” During the rally, KC Wolf took part in a students-versus-staff volleyball match, a basketball shootout, football target practice and more. “Events like this help motivate students to do their best,” said Dr. Woodard. “It also helps to demonstrate that us staff members are excited for them to display what they know and manifest their hard work on the MAP assessment.” MAP testing at SPS begins this week. To help your child be prepared for testing days, make sure they get plenty of rest and charge their Chromebooks fully before school. Making it to school on time and eating a healthy breakfast are also very important. #SPSProud
