The BIGGEST mistake anyone can make during their MCAT prep is spending too much time on content review ‼️ I can’t stress this enough: you can’t study for the MCAT like you would study for one of your undergrad exams 🙅🏽‍♀️❌ The MCAT is designed to make it hard for you to do it, so don’t waste your time trying to do what is familiar and focus on what works!!! Here’s what has worked for me: 1- I spent 5-6 weeks on content review reading 2-3 chapters/day (I used @kaplanmedical books). DO NOT TAKE NOTES as you’re going through the content, main goal here is just to understand the main concepts + reinforce with Anki later. 2- Move to practice questions AS SOON AS YOU CAN. We tend to spend more time on content review to make the transition to questions smoother, but it’s always going to be anything BUT smooth!!! Doing passage-based questions is its very own game and you’re going to need to learn how to play it 🥲 3- Do as many practice exams as you can. I personally took 1-2 exams/week after being done with content (total of 16 exams during my prep). TLDR: Make sure you’re using study techniques that actually prepare you for the MCAT and practice >>> reviewing content 🫶🏽 #mcat #mcattips #mcatprep #premed #premedmotivation #medschool #medicalstudent #doctor #medschooljourney

MCAT registration is opening up in a month, the fall semester is nearly over, and January MCAT test dates—and the first ever February test date— are right around the corner. You know what that means? 🤔 We’re moving into prime MCAT prep season! ⭐️ Everyone studies for the MCAT at a different pace, but if you’re aiming for a January test date, you have a little over 3 months to get test-ready. If you’re not sure where/how to start, try this sample 3-month study plan! If you need more structure and support, we can help! 🙌 Our final 515+ Course classes for the January 2026 MCAT dates are starting soon! Click the 🔗 in bio to see our upcoming schedules and enroll today! Here are some more general tips to help you create a successful MCAT study schedule: 1️⃣ Start early: Don’t wait until the last minute to start studying for the MCAT. Give yourself enough time to cover all the material and take enough practice tests. 2️⃣ Set realistic goals: Be honest with yourself about how much time you can commit to studying each day or week. It’s better to have a consistent schedule than try to cram in long study sessions that leave you burnt out. . . . #premed #mcat #mcatprep #blueprintmcat #mcatadvice #amcas #instamedicine #instastudent #prehealth #instapremed #medicalschool #medschool #medlife #mcatstudying #premedmotivation #premedstudent #premedlife #premedproblems #futuredoc #futuredoctor #futuredoctors #premedmotivation #premedicine #premedprobs

Retaking the MCAT? Do this before you start studying again. If your last MCAT didn’t go as planned, you’re not alone — and it doesn’t mean you can’t crush it next time. The biggest mistake I see retakers make is jumping right back in without pausing to reset. Give yourself permission to regroup first. That way, when you come back, you’re not just studying harder — you’re studying smarter. ✨ Comment PLAN for a copy of my MCAT study plan and start fresh with clarity. #MCAT #MCATprep #MCAT2026 #premed #premedlife #futuredoctor #medstudent #MCATmotivation #MCATstudy #retakingtheMCAT #studyplan #MCATtips #MCATadvice #MCATretake #premedsuccess

Before I sat on the admissions committee at one of the most competitive MD programs in the country, I was a three-time medical school reapplicant who had to retake the MCAT twice. So if you’re planning your MCAT timeline, learn from my mistake. The first time I took the MCAT, I tried to self-teach myself biochemistry while studying for the exam. That was not the move. Biochemistry is one of the largest and most conceptually difficult subjects on the MCAT, and it requires a deep understanding of pathways, molecular biology, and metabolism to truly master. Trying to learn all of that from scratch while simultaneously preparing for the exam made studying significantly harder than it needed to be. For most students, it’s far better to take the MCAT after completing biochemistry, so your study time can focus on practice questions, passage analysis, and reinforcing concepts instead of learning an entire subject from the ground up. Everyone’s timeline is different, but finishing biochemistry first can make MCAT preparation much more manageable. Save this if you’re planning your premed timeline. #Premed #MCAT #MCATPrep #PremedLife #MedicalSchoolApplication

So many premeds fall into the “515+ guarantee” trap. Thousands of dollars to big prep corporations promising elite scores… but no one is actually looking at you. Here’s the truth: You don’t need a giant company. You need strategy tailored to your weaknesses. Not a bloated game plan. Not 10,000 random questions. A clear, individualized approach. And I’m going to say this publicly: I don’t work for Dr. Howard. I don’t get paid to say this. There’s no affiliate link. But he is one of the few voices on social media actually teaching students how to think through the MCAT. My first MCAT attempt was a 506. After restructuring my approach and meeting with Dr. Howard early in my second prep cycle, my practice exams jumped to 514+. Now I still have to execute on test day. But the difference in confidence, structure, and clarity is undeniable. Stop throwing money at corporations that don’t know your name. If you’re struggling, invest in someone who will actually look at your strengths, your weaknesses, and your patterns. Sometimes one strategic conversation is worth more than a $3,000 prep package. And @doctoradamhoward — if you see this — thank you. Truly. Follow @journey.with.jayden for honest premed guidance. No gatekeeping. No fluff. #mcattips #mcatprep #firstgenerationcollegestudent #premedstudent #premedadvice
