Hi there, Iโ€™m Jennifer. For years, my body held onto every pound like its life depended on it. I was 55, post-menopausal, gaining 5 pounds every year, and nothing worked. Then I stopped doing what everyone said I should do and started doing what actually works for post-menopausal bodies. Here are the 4 stupid simple things that changed everything: 1. I ate way more protein. Not less. MORE. 85-110 grams every day. Post-menopausal bodies lose muscle mass faster. And muscle is what keeps your metabolism running. So I prioritized protein at every meal.My body finally had the fuel it needed to maintain muscle and burn fat. 2. I ditched running for short HIIT, yoga, and focused weight lifting. Running for hours was spiking my cortisol and making me GAIN weight. So I stopped. Instead, I did short HIIT workouts. Wall Pilates and yoga. Walking daily. And I started lifting weights to build muscle. Less time. Better results. No more cortisol spike. 3. I accepted losing just 1-2 pounds a month because it was sustainable. This was the hardest one. I wanted fast results. I wanted dramatic transformations.But slow progress is the only progress that lasts for post-menopausal bodies. I stopped chasing quick fixes and started trusting the process. 4. I made it my mission to improve my sleep. This was the foundation everything else was built on. Once I fixed my sleep, everything else started working. Because my body finally had the rest it needed to actually function properly. These 4 things arenโ€™t magic. Theyโ€™re just science. Post-menopausal bodies need different strategies. More protein. Less cortisol. Slow progress. Quality sleep. Once I learned those rules, I lost 27 pounds in 15 months. And Iโ€™ve kept it off for over a year.
