TOActing concentration is often misunderstood. People think it means shutting the world out or entering some trance. In practice, it is much simpler and much more active.
Concentration for an actor is the ability to notice distractions and then return to the work.
The camera moves closer. A line gets dropped. A thought about the result creeps in. Instead of fighting those things, the actor acknowledges them and goes back to listening. Back to the partner. Back to the moment.
I often use the airplane analogy in class. When a plane flies from Los Angeles to Hawaii, it is not perfectly on course the whole time. Wind pushes it slightly off path again and again. The pilot simply makes constant small corrections. Acting works the same way.
The job is not perfection. The job is adjustment.
When actors train seriously, whether in on camera acting classes, professional scene study, or private coaching with an acting coach in Los Angeles, they begin to trust that process. Focus becomes something flexible instead of fragile. That is where real presence shows up on camera.
That is the work we do every class and every coaching session.
