First, make sure youā€™re not using any heavy creams, oils, balms or harsh scrubs in your routine. 2. Now starting with cleansing, make sure you double cleanse so always start with Micellar water in a cotton pad (donā€™t use cleansing oils or balms) (LINKED MY FAV MICELLAR WATER) 3. Next go in with a gentle foaming cleanser. No salicylic/glycolic face wash. Please focus on both ā€˜gentleā€™ and ā€˜foamingā€™. (LINKED THE BEST FOR COMEDONAL ACNE) 4. Now as I mentioned, no scrubs so what for exfoliating? Salicylic acid it is! But make sure to use very gentle serum based SA overnight & not more than twice a week. (LINKED WHICH WONā€™T IRRITATE EVEN SENSITIVE SKIN) 5. Which serum for rest of the nights ? Use pore unclogging serum which slowly dissolves those stubborn comedones without any irritation (LINKED MY PERSONAL FAV) 6. Another important mentioned for sunscreen. do not use SILICONE SUNSCREEN (the one which feels like thereā€™s a layer on your skin & feels matte) Use light weight sunscreen which absorbs easily & doesnā€™t feel like a layer (LINKED BEST ONES) 7. I love a good unclogging face mask (itā€™s totally optional though) Can be used once or twice a week for 5-15minutes (LINKED) 8. HOW TO PICK A GARNIER MICELLAR WATER Pink ā€” for normal/combo/daily use Green ā€” for combo/oily skin who easily get shiny Blue ā€” for waterproof makeup/water resistant spf Yellow ā€” dull skin that needs brightening Orange ā€” this one is amazing for teens dealing with acne! HOW I LIKE TO USE IT As a first cleanse to remove makeup. I also use micellar water to double check after double cleansing that Iā€™ve removed everything. Make-up wipes are pretty inadequate at cleaning make-up, they mostly just move dirt and make around on the skin. They can contain harsh ingredients and fragrance which can be irritating and drying to the skin They also arenā€™t great for the environment āŒ Soaps Most soaps are pretty drying and strip natural oils from the skin, there are much better ways to wash your face šŸ§¼ āœ…Micellar water Lots of people have differing opinions on micellar water but Iā€™m a big fan. The micelles in micellar water attract dirt and make-up. I find the oil based micellar water great at melting down make-up. Great first cleanse IMO Use with a reusable pad which is much better for the environment compared to cotton pads. āœ…Balm cleansers Balm cleansers are also a great first cleanse option. Theyā€™re gentle and suitable for most skin types. Double cleanse whilst wearing heavier make-up is a must šŸ‘€ How do you remove your make-up?
