conversations about gen ai shouldn't stop just because someone decided to make an "eco friendly ai bot" when there are sooo many other dangers out there. So many people like to ignore the fact that ai affects more than js our water and electricity. these issues are slowly getting more and more covered up and people are beginning to think the only real issue with ai is its impact on the environment... it's so important to stay educated about how this technology exploits and hurts people! #chatgpt #generativeai #psa #important #needtoknow

There’s still too much misinformation about sunscreen online. This has real consequences: it reduces sunscreen use, and harms public health outcomes. That’s why a group of scientists from fields including photobiology, dermatology, solar physics, and behavioural science came together to write “A Manifesto for Informed Sun Protection Advice in Relation to Sunscreens”. This is an accessible, evidence-based document that clearly outlines what scientists agree on about sunscreen and sun protection, and some common myths. This is a great example of scientists working to improve public understanding! The manifesto is publicly available - you can easily find it by searching the title online. Please read and share! 🚨 FACT CHECK: A viral image claiming to show the late Jeffrey Epstein recently spotted in Tel Aviv, Israel, is circulating widely online. The unverified photos feature a man strongly resembling the disgraced financier. However, official records and the Justice Department confirmed Epstein died in a New York City federal detention center in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal charges. Since his death, numerous conspiracy theories and fabricated images have routinely surfaced across social media platforms. Digital forensics experts frequently warn about the increasing volume of manipulated media, AI-generated content, and lookalike photos explicitly designed to drive viral engagement. Authorities have not lent any credibility to these recent claims. Digital literacy advocates are urging users to rely on established news agencies rather than unverified social media accounts for accurate information. How do you usually verify if a viral image you see online is real or fake? 💭 📰 Sources: AP Fact Check / Official DOJ Records #FactCheck #Misinformation #DigitalLiteracy #USNews #CurrentEvents 🚨 VIRAL UPDATE: Fact-checkers are responding to a circulating image that falsely claims Jeffrey Epstein was recently spotted in Israel. A viral video being circulated with claims of misconduct in India is now being challenged, with many pointing out that the incident is not from India. According to emerging details, the clip is actually from Nepal, and the tourist involved is reportedly from Thailand. The misleading narrative has sparked concern online, with users urging others to verify facts before sharing and avoid spreading incorrect information that can create unnecessary tension. The incident highlights how quickly misinformation can travel on social media, often distorting the truth and targeting the wrong place or people. In the age of viral content, responsible sharing matters more than ever. Credit & Disclaimer: Respective Owners (DM for Credit/Removal) No copyright infringement intended. It’s amazing when someone claims to expose “misinformation” by using misinformation. I’ve been wanting to do a breakdown of this account for a while, and this reaction to Geers et al. (2024) is a good example of why. He takes a narrower finding from the study and inflates it into something much broader than the paper supports. A context-specific issue in confidence calibration gets turned into a sweeping claim about conservatives’ metacognition in general, and then stretched even further into insinuations about intelligence, even though intelligence was not measured in the study at all. Then he drags in Dunning-Kruger as if that neatly explains what is happening here, when it does not. The authors themselves rejected that comparison! So what you end up with is a mashup of different constructs, different theories, and different levels of explanation, all fused together to imply a conclusion the paper does not actually establish. That is what happens when someone uses psychological science less to clarify and more to serve an ideological narrative. #misinformation #psychologicalresearch #politics #scienceeducation #ideology

Videos of “flying tires” linked to Kazakhstan are usually misleading — they are isolated events, strong winds, or edited content. Technically, a tire only lifts when external forces overcome its weight, such as extreme wind or pressure release. Los videos de “llantas volando” en Kazajistán suelen ser engañosos — no es un fenómeno real. Técnicamente, solo ocurre si fuerzas externas superan el peso, como viento extremo o presión. #pneus #fisica #vento #desinformacao #dinamica #tires #physics #wind #misinformation #dynamics #neumaticos #fisica #viento #desinformacion #dinamica

This video is an example of misinformation that is frequently shared online, but its content is entirely fictional and edited. The facts behind the video are as follows: 1. Audio and Visual Mismatch The terrifying screams heard in the video do not belong to the excavation site shown in the footage. The sound effect is the famous recording associated with the 1980s urban legend known as the “Siberian Well to Hell.” It has been repeatedly proven that the original audio was either taken from a horror film or artificially edited. 2. The Real Source of the Footage The workers seen in the video are performing a typical tunneling or metro construction operation. What appears to happen is likely a routine engineering situation, such as soil collapse or the opening of a natural cavity during excavation. Based on the workers’ clothing and helmets, it is clearly a standard construction site. 3. The “Gate to Hell” Claim Headlines such as “A gate to hell has been discovered” are classic clickbait tactics used on social media to generate engagement and gain followers. As even stated in the on-screen text (“Goal: 10K followers”), the primary aim is to exploit fear and curiosity to increase interaction. In summary: The video does not show a real discovery. It is simply ordinary construction footage edited with horror movie sound effects to create a misleading narrative.#misinformation #fakenews #urbanlegend #factcheck #viralreels

A man’s T-shirt has gone viral on social media after featuring an “Om” symbol alongside a bold line suggesting he was a “spy in Pakistan.” 😳 The unusual message quickly caught attention, leading to widespread sharing and speculation online. Soon after, claims began circulating that the man had been “caught by agents,” but there is no verified evidence to support these rumors. Many users believe the text on the T-shirt was intended as humor, while others raised concerns about sensitivity and the spread of misinformation. The incident highlights how quickly assumptions can go viral, even without confirmed facts—turning a simple moment into a larger online debate. 🎥: @juyel_vibes Disclaimer: We do not claim ownership of any videos, images, or audio used in this post. 🎥 Viral AI Clip A 15-second AI-generated video shows a blue whale lunging at a dense school of small fish. 📝 Overlay Claim The text describes it as Earth’s largest animal that feeds on tiny prey, with a throat smaller than a human hand. ⚠️ What’s Wrong The whale is shown with visible teeth and aggressive snapping behavior—something that isn’t accurate. 🐋 Real Science Blue whales don’t have teeth. They use baleen plates to filter-feed, mainly eating krill through a method called lunge feeding. 📢 Public Reaction With over 3 million views, many viewers pointed out the mistakes and criticized it as misleading AI content. 🌐 Bigger Conversation The clip sparked wider discussions about how AI-generated nature videos can spread misinformation online. #AIVideo #WildlifeFacts #BlueWhale #Misinformation #NatureTruth Follow @astonishing_26 for daily content 🌟 💌DM for credits or removal
