1️⃣Tell us more about why your field of study at MIT appeals to you.
- Pick a SPECIFIC moment that sparked your interest in your field
- Connect your interest to MIT’s unique resources/opportunities (like UROP or SuperUROP) and show how they align with your future goals
2️⃣Tell us about something you do simply for the pleasure of it.
- We recommend trying to choose a more unique activity, but if not possible, write about anything but make sure to put a twist on it
- Explore how this activity helps you grow or think differently
3️⃣In what ways have you done something different than what was expected in your educational journey?
- Select an example of a time when you created an original solution to a problem or took an unconventional approach to something
- Explore how you loved using your creative problem-solving abilities in the example you choose
4️⃣Describe one way you have collaborated with others to learn from them, with them, or contribute to your community together.
- Focus on a specific project/situation where there were diverse voices in the room
- Show how you both contributed to and learned from others in that situation
5️⃣How did you manage a situation or challenge that you didn’t expect? What did you learn from it?
- Pick a situation that really caught you off guard and required quick thinking
- Emphasize your action-oriented thinking, adaptability, and enthusiasm to problem-solve
