Functional core movements and mobility exercises are so important for anyone but ESPECIALLY our tall girls looking to improve posture and prevent low back pain🤗 A solid core isn’t just about strength—it’s about stability and control, helping to support your spine and reduce strain. Coming from gals who have had low back issues their whole lives. We learned that combining this with mobility work to keep your body moving freely, allows you to not only stand taller but feel more confident and injury-resistant !!! #tallgirls #mobilitytraining #coreworkout #coreworkout #mobilitytraining #healthyhabits

On Friday, I did my first #posthysterectomy bodyweight workout, and it kicked every ounce of my 🍑. While I didn't lose too much strength overall, I have some work to do on my core. I couldn't go past 15 standard pushups in one round compared to my solid 40 to 50 without breaks. My planks were very shaky, and things like lunges felt like they required extra effort. Everyone's perspective will vary, but thus far, I realize I need extra time with mobility work and balance exercises and will continue doing my strength training and running intervals. Considering how much pain I've been in for 30 years, I'm looking forward to seeing what life is like with less pain at 39 years old. I'm keeping it simple and will build up over time. My latest discovery as an amateur is that training doesn’t only mean training your body to do the hard things, but also training your body in recovery. I say train because there really needs to be a discipline because it apparently isn’t something you leave to chance. We must be intentional since the body will not repair itself properly after such a beating if it isn’t given proper conditions. And unless it is able to repair itself back properly, we also cannot come back stronger. Worse is that we build nothing there but an opportunity to get injured. (Story of my life before 🤣) Overuse injuries honestly is so closely tied to poor recovery because people don’t know how to. What we know only is rest — which means sit or lie down, but recovering is different because it is not doing nothing but actually mindfully doing something to initiate not only repair but growth of strength and capacity for the body. Here are some ways I found to be effective: 1. SLEEP. When the body repairs so get that good! 2. PROPER FOOD. Not just any food but the right ones and amounts to help at the right time too — before, during, after activity. 3. FOAM ROLLING — the fascianator saved my life! You can know more about this from @ruthrimea 4. PHYSICAL THERAPY — could be a manual release with your therapist or with use of machines! I reco @thephysiarephysicaltherapy for this. If you decide to go tell them I recommended you and they will give discount! 5. ACTIVE STRETCHES / MOBILITY WORK — not high impact but focusing on range of motion so the body can relax instead of stiffen, tighten as we go. 6. DRIPS — we cannot get all we need from food especially when we spend so much so my favorite one is Myer’s Drip from @lemeur.aesthetics — 250g of good stuff straight into your veins 😆 7. SWIMMING — i picked it up when I got injured and realised that I unwittingly taught myself to recover faster when I move my body for swimming. Science behind it is that movement as such stimulates the body’s blood flow that in turn leads to healing.

We live in our bodies every single day until the end of our lives….so why wouldn’t we want to make them the best possible place to live? Why isn’t it the norm that everyone has access to the knowledge and tools to do that through movement, strength training, and mobility work? For too long, fitness has been reduced to aesthetics, to how we look rather than how we feel. It’s twisted. Movement should be about empowerment, freedom, and creating a body that supports us in living the life we want. #fitness #fitnessindustry #fitnessmotivation #bodypositivefitness

One of my words for 2026 is MOVE. And it means a few different things to me. First, move your body. At least once a day. Whether it’s a hard workout, some mobility work, or just a simple walk. Movement is good for the body and mind, and I want it to be a non-negotiable thing I do every day. Second, don’t stay in the same place for too long. My cup gets filled the most when I’m traveling. If I stay in LA too long, I get stuck in routine. When I’m on the move, I think bigger. New environments force new perspectives. Getting out of your normal space matters more than people realize. And lastly, MOVE means forward motion. Progress. Growth. Getting 1% better. The steps won’t always be massive, but they have to exist. Trying, learning, experimenting, pushing. Because staying stagnant isn’t neutral… It’s moving backwards.

Most people trying to lose fat are focused on calories and cardio. But here’s the truth: Muscle is the hack. And you can’t build real muscle if you don’t have full range of motion. If you’re stiff: • You lift lighter than you could • You shorten your reps • You compensate with other muscles • You increase injury risk • You stall progress The heavier (safely) you can lift with proper form and full range, the more muscle you build. The more muscle you build, the higher your metabolic demand. Since adding mobility work at @achieveimprovedmotion , my lifts improved, my form improved, and my results followed. Fat loss isn’t just about eating less. It’s about training better. If you work out but feel “stuck,” this might be your missing piece. Follow me for real strategy — not quick fixes.

What people think about mobility work: For many, mobility work seems unnecessary, like an “extra” in a workout plan. Some believe it’s only for the injured, the elderly, or those doing yoga. Others confuse it with basic stretching. But mobility is far more than that. It’s about improving the quality of your movement, ensuring your joints can handle both load and range without restriction. Without it, strength and endurance mean little because you’re moving inefficiently and inefficiency eventually leads to breakdown. Why joints get tighter and why it matters: Joints tighten up for many reasons: modern lifestyles keep us seated for hours, movement patterns become repetitive, old injuries linger, and connective tissues naturally stiffen with age. Stress, lack of hydration, and even poor nutrition can worsen this. Ignoring joint health creates imbalances, making your body compensate in ways that lead to pain, stiffness, or even injuries down the line. Working on mobility restores the freedom your joints were designed for, so you can train harder, move better, and age gracefully. Lastly - Addressing mobility isn’t just a physical reset. it can be an emotional release, allowing the body to process and clear what’s been trapped in tissues for years.
