SOToday was a very special day for Punch. For the first time, he stood up and walked on two feet all by himself. It may look simple, but it actually takes strong legs and good balance. This little step shows how much he is growing and becoming more confident.
Punch is a baby Japanese macaque, also known as a snow monkey. These monkeys are very smart and usually live in cold places in Japan. Like any baby, Punch is playful, curious, and learning something new every day.
Punch became known around the world because his mother left him when he was just born. During that difficult time, he found comfort in a soft orangutan teddy. He hugs it, sleeps with it, and holds it close whenever he feels scared or unsure. For Punch, the teddy is not just a toy — it makes him feel safe, warm, and loved.
