As the district faces a major deficit, staff cuts and a $17.6 million March 10 referendum vote, teachers, nurses and paraprofessionals have voiced concerns at Board of Education meetings, while others say they hesitate to speak publicly. “I can say that there are certainly teachers who, because of their tenure status or lack thereof, have not wanted to speak at board meetings or to share their personal opinions for fear of retribution,” one teacher said.
