CAVIERNES SANTO || La vida de Brian tenía que empezar a filmarse a finales de febrero de 1978. Pero el 20 de febrero de ese año Bernard Delfont, ejecutivo de EMI Films, la productora del filme, envió un memorándum urgente a los dirigentes de la empresa advirtiéndoles de la necesidad de paralizar la producción porque, tras finalmente leer el guion, consideró que este era "obsceno y sacrílego...
Se trata de una situación muy seria y no puedo permitir que este filme se lleve a cabo hasta que sepamos lo que vamos a hacer".
Afortunadamente para los Monty Python, apareció un ángel de la guarda. Su nombre: George Harrison. El exBeatle hipotecó su casa y de este modo obtuvo los 17 millones de dólares de hoy para poder financiar la película a través de su productora HandMade Films.
