Microsoft has announced the creation of a dedicated MAI Superintelligence Team, initially focused on medical diagnostics, including oncology.
Unlike general-purpose AI models, this initiative shifts toward domain-specific superintelligence, systems capable of outperforming humans in complex diagnostic tasks.
The goal: detect diseases earlier, personalise treatment, and extend healthy lifespan.
This new generation of medical AI doesn’t just predict; it interprets, contextualises, and learns from vast biomedical data in real time.
Yet one challenge remains: bridging the gap between technical capability and real-world clinical integration — ensuring that superintelligence doesn’t stay in the lab but transforms patient care.

RO💾 Microsoft has been working on Project Silica for nearly a decade, and this month marked its biggest leap yet.
The research phase is now officially complete, and the system no longer requires rare, expensive glass.
It now works with the same heat-resistant material found in Pyrex cookware. That solves what was previously the biggest barrier to real-world deployment.
The glass stores nearly 5 terabytes of data in a coaster-sized slab, needs no power to maintain it, and is immune to heat, water, and magnetic fields that would destroy conventional storage within decades.
Microsoft has already used it to archive the 1978 Superman film and partnered with the Global Music Vault to preserve recordings under Arctic ice.

THLarry Ellison was abandoned as a child in New York.
His mother gave him up. His adoptive father told him he’d never amount to anything.
He dropped out of college twice.
In 1977, at 32 years old, Ellison read a research paper from IBM about a new database programming language called SQL.
He took that paper and built the first commercial SQL database.
He founded Software Development Labs with $1,200 and two partners.
That company became Oracle.
Today, Oracle is worth $465 billion.
Ellison owns 43% of it.
His net worth: $205 billion—making him the third richest person in the world, nearly tied with Jeff Bezos.
In 2000, Microsoft dominated tech and was facing an antitrust trial.
Ellison suspected Microsoft was secretly funding “independent” research groups to release studies defending the company.
So he hired private investigators to prove it. Their mission? Dig through Microsoft’s trash.
Literally.
The detectives posed as janitors and sifted through garbage bins outside pro-Microsoft research organizations.
When the media exposed the operation, Ellison didn’t apologize.
He said: “We weren’t spying. We were exposing the truth.”
That’s Larry Ellison in one sentence.
His philosophy is simple: “It’s not enough to win. All others must lose.”
But here’s the twist: Ellison isn’t just a destroyer.
He’s also a kingmaker.
Steve Jobs was one of his closest friends.
When Jobs was thrown out of Apple in 1985, Ellison stood by him.
He even plotted to buy Apple, install Jobs as CEO, and give him 25% of the company.
Jobs refused. He wanted to earn his way back.
Now, at 80 years old, Ellison is focused on something bigger: making death optional.
He’s donated over $350 million to anti-aging research.
Most CEOs retire and fade into irrelevance.
Ellison? He’s still swinging.
