The first 5 yachts over the line and the top 5 in the MOCRA Multihulls Class (positions based on corrected times). ▫️ In the MOCRA under 50ft class, Dazcat 1295 Minor Swing came 1st & 1495 Hissy Fit came 2nd. ▫️ This year’s race marks the centenary of the first ever Fastnet, which first took place in 1925. The offshore classic began off Cowes on the Isle of Wight on the 26 July, a 695-nautical-mile route around Fastnet Rock and finishing in Cherbourg. ▫️ Over 460 yachts competed this year with fierce competition across a wide range of classes—including some of the world’s fastest multihulls like the Ultims. ▫️ #sailing #race #catamarans #trimarans @rorcracing

Six Dazcats and a Shuttleworth Trimaran had a great weekend racing from Plymouth to St Peter Port and back for our Fastnet race qualifier. It was a gusty and very wet weekend with big seas. We covered all angles of sail and were quite heavily reefed at times. It certainly served its purpose as a pre-cursor to what is probably the world's most notorious race. As always, both the sailing and the socials made it a special event. Well done to Dazcat 1150 Bare Necessities for coming 1st in race 1, Shuttleworth 39 Morpheus in race 2 and Dazcat 1195 Sueños for coming 1st in their two boat race back to Falmouth. Thanks to the RNSA South West for organising, to MOCRA for for working with them on behalf of multihulls, to @guernsey_marinas for accommodating us all and @guernseyyachtclub for the great evening. #dazcat #multihullcentre #madeincornwall #fastnetracepreparation #offshoreracing
