SCVisiting an old friend 🇬🇧
We all remember our first road bike and most people I speak to regret selling theirs. This Mutt Mongrel 125 was my first bike on the road and I’m doing my best to keep hold of it…for as long as possible.
Given that I don’t ride it at the moment, I keep it stashed away underground - protected from London’s harsh climate. I’ve been so busy lately that I realised it has been 2 years since I had gone to pay it a visit.
To be honest, I thought it wasn’t going to start given that it’s not fuel injected and the old petrol has been sitting in the carb… but it did.
Back when this bike was running, I’d take it everywhere and put some decent mileage on it before getting the Scrambler. This bike is important to me not just because it was my first road bike but because this is the bike that inspired me to start this page. I wonder if anyone is still following since the days of ‘Mutt in London?’
I really should get out on the Mutt more as it’s a joy to ride even though it’s gutless and handles terribly.
