NO💻 All NAPLAN practice tests are conducted online, so preparation should be too.
If your child is sitting the OC or Selective test, being comfortable with the online format is just as important as knowing the content.
Here are a few simple but important tips:
• Ensure your child practises full-length tests on a computer (not just paper).
• Use a mouse instead of a trackpad to improve speed and accuracy.
• Practise reading passages on screen to build stamina and focus.
• Teach time management :online timers can feel different from classroom settings.
• Make sure they are confident navigating between questions quickly.

INHi everyone,
I’m Neha.
You might have seen some of my videos on NAPLAN recently.
First of all — thank you. Truly. The amount of love and messages on my NAPLAN series meant so much to me. 🤍
Yesterday was supposed to be my final post in the series.
But then… a mum messaged me.
She said she had printed all the past papers I mentioned in my videos — but now she was feeling overwhelmed.
“There are only two weeks left,” she said.
“So many papers… I don’t know where to start.”
I shared my thoughts with her privately.
And then I thought — if one mum is feeling this, maybe others are too.
So here it is.
First things first — I am not a NAPLAN expert.
I’ve never conducted a NAPLAN exam.
What I share comes from:
• My experience working in schools
• Conversations with friends whose children have sat NAPLAN before
• And now, as a parent — what I’m personally doing with my daughter
Now coming back to her question.
She said, “Should I try to complete all the papers?”
My honest suggestion?
Please don’t stress about finishing everything.
You don’t need to complete all the papers.
Complete as many as you comfortably can.
Quality over quantity.
Then she asked, “Which paper should I start with?”
Here’s what I suggested:
If your child is strong in Maths — start with Numeracy.
If they love storytelling — start with Writing.
If spelling and grammar are their strong areas — go with Language Conventions.
And if you’re unsure?
Start with Reading.
Reading is often the easiest to begin with.
There’s less pressure to “create” answers.
Most responses are based directly on the text.
It’s comprehension — not heavy brainstorming.
Sometimes starting with something manageable builds confidence for the rest.
That’s it.
