It was hot out, I swear…. I mean it’s the desert right?
When I saw it was over $100 a person to rent the waders to hike the Narrows, I thought, we’re from Florida, we practically live in the water… who don’t need no stinking waders 😂😂
Truth… it’s f**kin cold and we made it maybe a mile in before we gave up 😂
Still worth it though… what an incredible hike!

🌿 Spring has an increased chance of flash flooding & muddy-looking waters, while summer is peak season & packed! So...🍂❄️ is the time to go.
🚌 Ensure you know if the shuttle is running or not during your visit. It can be great to have the ability to drive right in, but if you’re not there early, you may not get a spot.
🪨 Use the walking stick they provide or bring poles! It is very difficult to hike this (especially several miles in when you’re tired) without having three points of contact - slippery rocks!
⚠️ Always check the weather before your trip & be aware of potential flash flood conditions
📷 You’ll want your camera for this one, we promise. So bring or rent a dry bag to keep everything safe.
♻️ Please remember to always Leave No Trace and leave the area better than you found it!

NAStory time 🦌
I captured this moment in Zion a few years ago while hiking The Narrows. I caught the very first bus up and, surprisingly, had the canyon completely to myself that morning. It was November—the water was absolutely freezing—and, true to form, I was wildly underprepared. (Most people rent neoprene dry suits this time of year.)
Eventually, the cold forced me to stop and perch on a large boulder just to warm up. While I was sitting there, I looked back downriver toward where I’d come from and noticed this little deer quietly following me up the canyon. I’m not sure how long he’d been there, where he was headed, or how I hadn’t noticed him sooner—but that brief, silent moment is one I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

👣 The Virgin River has been carving out Zion Canyon for 18 million years, and continues to this day😵 The Narrows hike is known as Zions hallmark hike because it’s fit for both beginner and expert hikers🥾 have you ever experienced this hike?!
✨It’s 2.5 miles from Temple of Sinawava to Orderville Canyon! 16 miles all the way through😵This hike can take anywhere between 2 hours-two days if you decide to camp out (you’d need a permit)👍🏼
Tips & tricks🙌🏼: check flow rate! Flash floods can happen quickly & put you in a scary situation! Also, at the visitors center you can rent water shoes for $30, but I recommend you bring some of your own👣 (we didn’t wear any shoes at all) Happy hiking!🏞

TH48 Hours in Zion + Bryce 🏜 Here’s the exact plan.
Day 1 (Zion):
Scout Lookout → Angels Landing (permit required 🎟)
Take the first shuttle you can — parking inside fills before 8 AM.
Shuttle Stop 6 = The Grotto (start of the hike).
Day 2 (Zion → Bryce):
Morning hike at The Narrows (Shuttle Stop 9).
Check water levels + rent boots/stick in Springdale if it’s cold.
Drive ~1.5–2 hrs to Bryce Canyon for sunset.
Bryce Tip:
Sunset Point + Navajo Loop are unreal.
Higher elevation than Zion = colder + windier.
Efficient. No wasted time. Two bucket-list parks in one weekend. ✔️ We lived in an @airbnb in Hurricane (which I highly recommend) so we did a little bit of stargazing as well! DM me for the airbnb reco!
