Motherhood is one of the most hidden schools of humility 🤍🙏🏻 So many of the sacrifices mothers make every day go completely unnoticed. The meals cooked. The messes cleaned. The sleepless nights. The quiet prayers when everyone else is asleep. But God sees every one of them. Here are 15 quiet ways Catholic moms practice humility every day: 1. Serving everyone before sitting down to eat 2. Cleaning the same mess again and again 3. Waking up at night for your children 4. Letting others speak first 5. Apologizing to your kids when you were wrong🙏🏻 6. Doing work that no one notices 7. Choosing patience when you’re exhausted 8. Folding laundry again 9. Listening even when you are tired 10. Forgiving quickly 11. Praying quietly when no one sees 12. Accepting imperfect days 13. Letting someone else shine 14. Trusting God with your family 15. Loving in small hidden ways Humility often grows in the ordinary moments of motherhood. Not in big dramatic sacrifices — but in the small acts of love that happen every single day. If you’d like the Litany of Humility printable, comment humility and I’ll send it to you 🤍 And if you’re a mama trying your best in these quiet ways, know that your work is deeply seen by God. Save this reel so you can come back to it later, and share it with another catholic mama who might need encouragement today. #catholicmom #catholicwomen #catholicmotherhood #lent #christianmotherhood

When taking infants and toddlers to Mass, my children would not sit still, take off, or find any excuse to leave the pew. It was exhausting. People (who meant well) would tell me these things to ease my stress, but then I realized how they were LIES to not teach piety or reverence to my child. These are the 3 lies: 1) This is a season and developmentally it is normal. 2) This is your form of worship as a mother. 3) Neurodivergent children aren't capable of sitting still or praying in Mass. I will never believe as a mom. These are excuses to not feel guilty about bad Mass etiquette. If children can die martyrs...then they can sit and even pray in Mass reverently for 1 hour out of the 168 hours in the week. I noticed their mind was distracted because it was a lack of faith formation to teach them depth. I brought my greatest weapon from Church ministry to my home. An evangelization technique that triggered conversions, vocations, and deepened a love for the Sacraments. A side-by-side illustration of the Passion being re-presented in the Mass to show how the priest is being 'in persona Christi.' What happened next, my infants and toddlers were BEGGING ME to have longer prayers in the home, going to Adoration and daily Mass more frequently, wanting to receive Communion before 3 years old, and wanting to join religious life. It helped them draw close to their faith. Now I'm bringing this to your family. I am creating the very 1st 5 part Mass sensory book set called "The Passion and the Mass Sensory Books" that illustrates this side by side comparison to children. It will be done in watercolour art by Catholic artist @artistic_catholic Caroline. The crowdfunding for this project is now LIVE! Estimated value is $80USD for all 5, but thankfully you have a chance to win it for FREE! Comment PATRON to get be the first to get it today. Goal to fully crowdfund by Divine Mercy Sunday- Apr 12. Spread the good news! #rwmc #massbook #catholicgifts #watercolourart

No one told me about the spiritual battle I would fight as a mother on behalf of my children. Maybe it’s because I came to faith as an adult, pregnant with my first baby 14 years ago, learning both motherhood & my faith at the same time. I’ve always imagined our prayers like arrows sent out before a great battle. Aimed at the front lines before the soldiers ever advance into enemy territory. But what I did not know is that becoming a mother would awaken something fierce inside of me. A warrior, and the protector of my children’s hearts. Mind and souls. And I became a woman willing to fall to her knees daily and fight for the souls entrusted to her. And prayer is exactly how i do that. Over the battles they don’t even know they will face yet. And with teens and toddlers I know they won’t ever end. And I am honored to battle for and with them. Over the lies the world will try to tell them. And the calling God has already placed on their lives. It is standing in the gap for the next generation. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 #biblicalmotherhood #unfilteredmotherhood #prayerpower #mamabear #thepowerofprayer

The world says motherhood is a burden and it should be put off until “convenient”. But it’s not meant to be convenient. Motherhood is sanctifying. We can either choose to lean into it with thankfulness, in whatever way it looks, or walk through it with disdain for what we “lost”. I’m not saying it’s always easy or that you’ll never miss quiet moments. But I am saying it doesn’t have to be as miserable as it feels. And even in the moments, days, months, or years of trial, you have an opportunity to grow and find Christ. How you talk about motherhood, who you surround yourself with, and how you act, all influence what you’ll experience. So surround yourself with people who support motherhood, who support you and call you to a higher standard, who hear you when you’re struggling and help you see Christ’s example. You don’t have to hate motherhood. You can be transformed by it. #motherhoodblogger #motherhood #orthodoxchristian #pregnancyeducation #

When you don’t feel like praying. When you’d rather do ANYTHING else. When you’d rather catch up on the dishes or the laundry or Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. You will never regret the time spent with the Lord. And it doesn’t have to be intense. You don’t need to have deep theological insights or go into ecstasy. Just a little time each day to connect with God. My book “Sacred Chaos: Finding Joy and Jesus in the Messiness of Motherhood” is a 21 day mini retreat for moms who want to want prayer. It gives you space to pray as long as you want, or as short as you need. Available through @avemariapress and on Amazon!

The more I understand motherhood… the more I embrace the hard. The more I understand Catholicism… the more I see the beauty. The more I surrender as a mom… the more I trust God. The more I struggle… the more I turn to Mary. It’s all connected. I used to think these were more separate parts of my life motherhood, faith, identity but they’re not. They’re forming me… together. And honestly, this didn’t just “click” for me overnight. It came from slowing down, paying attention to my thoughts, and learning how to actually bring them back to Truth in the middle of the chaos, not just in quiet time, but in the hard, real moments of motherhood. That’s exactly why I created the journal I use every day. It’s helped me take thoughts captive, hear God more clearly, and actually live this out instead of just knowing it. If you’re craving more peace, more clarity, and a deeper connection with God in your motherhood… comment BOOK and I’ll send it to you 🤍

This is just a handful of them… there are so many! Lent Reflections From A Mom - Day 18 I think it’s such a beautiful thing that nursing is so frequently mentioned in the bible and of such importance, too. It’s also so cool that the love that a mother has for her nursing child is comparable to the love that God has for His children. I haven’t ever focused too closely on the stories of women in the bible… Not sure why, I’m learning that there are a lot of stories that I resonate with not only as a woman, but as a mom, too. Looking forward to learning more and sharing these stories, too! #motherhood #nursing #breastfeeding #faithjourney #scripture

As newborn babes… As my newborn is totally dependent upon me, I’m also totally dependent upon the Lord. 1. Praying during night wakes. These are little whispers like, “Thank You for this blessing.” It’s helped me refocus from the fatigue. 2. Listening to a devotional podcast. I’ve found Crossway’s Daily Joy for Women, which has an 8-12 minute Bible reading then devotion to go with it. If I don’t read something in the morning, the day gets away from me. And it’s hard to plan to sit and do that with a newborn. 3. Keeping a prayer journal. I spend a few minutes in the moment writing a prayer based on the given text in the journal and add some prayer requests and praises. It’s not elaborate but God doesn’t ask us to be. It’s a season of chaos and unknown time to myself - or really no time at all! But I want to stay in God’s Word through it. #christian #sahm #morherhood #postpartum #devotional

No matter how hard motherhood can be, there are so many little joys woven into it. Watching your little ones play in the yard. Seeing virtue take root in their hearts. Little arms wrapping around you. The quiet reminder that, to them, you are their whole world. Yes, motherhood can be hard. But in these small, ordinary moments, we’re reminded that it is so SO worth it. #amongwomen #FaithFilledMotherhood #ChristianMotherhood #CatholicMotherhood

With Easter service coming up, I just want to encourage the mamas 🤍 Bringing your babies to church, even if they’re not quiet, even if you’re in and out, even if you spend most of the time in the nursery, is meaningful. Rocking your child while listening to worship is meaningful. Showing up, even when it feels hard, is meaningful. I’ve been thinking about Mary… and what it must have felt watching her baby boy walk through so much pain. And still, she stayed. She showed up. Because at the end of the day, He is our Savior, but He’s still her baby 🥹 So if all you can do this Sunday is hold your baby and listen from the hallway, I’ve got good news for you, you’re exactly where you need to be 🤍 #palmsunday #thisismotherhood #momencouragement #sundayservice #easter

Each step of motherhood reveals more of the heart of God. In loving our children, we begin to understand more deeply the patience, grace, and love He so freely gives us. Pairing that with being part of a Moms in Prayer group helps us see God more and more clearly 🤍
