The PR interval on an ECG (electrocardiogram) represents the time taken for the electrical impulse to travel from the atria to the ventricles. It includes the P wave and the straight line leading up to the QRS complex. This interval reflects the time it takes for the atria to depolarize and the impulse to travel through the AV node and the rest of the conduction system to the ventricles. To figure out the PR interval, follow these steps: 1. **Identify the P wave**: Locate the beginning of the P wave on the ECG. 2. **Identify the QRS complex**: Find the start of the QRS complex. 3. **Measure the interval**: Count the small squares between the start of the P wave and the start of the QRS complex. Each small square represents 0.04 seconds (40 milliseconds). 4. **Calculate the duration**: Multiply the number of small squares by 0.04 seconds to get the duration of the PR interval. A normal PR interval ranges from 0.12 to 0.20 seconds (120 to 200 milliseconds). Deviations from this range can indicate various cardiac conditions, such as first-degree heart block (prolonged PR interval) or pre-excitation syndromes (shortened PR interval). #nclex #nursingschool #nurse #nursing #nursingstudent #nurselife #nclexrn #rn #nclexstudying #nursesofinstagram #nclexprep #registerednurse #nclexquestions #nclexpass #nclexreview #nursesrock #lpn #nurses #nclextips #futurenurse #nclexpn #studentnurse #nursepractitioner #nclexhelp #medical #nclexexam #nursingschoolproblems #nclexpreparation #lvn #nclexstudy

R2P Monday Movement Challenge: The Lean & Step Start in the middle of a doorway. Lean to one side, step toward the wall, then bring your other leg through to recover. It looks simple… but controlling that lean, balance, and recovery is a lot harder than it seems 👀 Rumor has it this one’s a little tougher for the guys — what do you think? 👇 #R2PMovementChallenge #MovementMonday #MovewithR2P #SportsPT #r2pcolumbia #Rehab2Perform #R2P #MovementChallenge #PhysicalTherapy #ChoosePT #SportsPT #SPT #MovementMatters #PerformancePT #DPT

🩺 NORMAL ECG vs ARRHYTHMIA Know the Difference Before It’s Too Late 🚨 🔵 NORMAL ECG (Sinus Rhythm) ✔️ Regular rhythm ✔️ Heart rate: 60–100 bpm ✔️ P wave before every QRS ✔️ Consistent PR interval ✔️ QRS narrow & uniform 💡 This means the heart’s electrical system is working properly. 🔴 ARRHYTHMIA (Abnormal Rhythm) ❌ Irregular rhythm (too fast / too slow) ❌ Missing or abnormal P waves ❌ Variable PR interval ❌ Wide or bizarre QRS complexes ❌ Heart rate <60 or >100 bpm 💡 Indicates a problem in the heart’s electrical conduction. ⚠️ Common Types to Know: Atrial Fibrillation → Irregularly irregular rhythm Ventricular Tachycardia → Wide, fast QRS Bradycardia → Slow heart rate 🚨 Why It Matters: Some arrhythmias are harmless… others can be life-threatening if missed. 📌 Pro Tip: Always check → Rate • Rhythm • P wave • QRS • PR interval

The PR interval is measured from the start of the P wave (atrial depolarization) to the start of the QRS complex (ventricular depolarization). 👉 It represents the time it takes for the electrical impulse to travel from the SA node, through the atria, AV node, and into the ventricles. 📏 Normal range: 0.12–0.20 seconds (3–5 small boxes on ECG paper). ⚠️ Too short (<0.12 sec): May suggest an accessory pathway (like WPW). ⚠️ Too long (>0.20 sec): Think first-degree AV block or conduction delay. Knowing the PR interval helps you spot subtle conduction problems before they turn into major rhythm issues. #PRInterval #ECGInterpretation #CardiacRhythms #CVICUSchoolhouse #CriticalCareNurse #nurse #icunurse #newnurse

❤️‍🩹Let’s Talk about HEART BLOCKS There are several types, and they go in order from 1st degree to 3rd degree (or complete!) First Degree: In 1st degree heart block, there is a noted prolongation of the PR interval. This is the primary difference between first degree heart block and normal sinus rhythm Second Degree (Wenckebach or Mobitz Type I): The P waves will gradually reach further and further away from the QRS complex, and eventually DROP entirely Second Degree (Mobitz Type II): The PR interval here remains the same, but the QRS complex will eventually drop, leading to a missed beat. These patients often need to be paced! Third Degree (Complete): The most severe type of heart block is a complete heart block. Here, P waves are entirely unmatched with QRS complexes. Think of this as a miscommunication altogether in cardiac activity! Pacing is also required here to realign the communication between the atria and ventricles. What are symptoms of complete heart block which a patient may exhibit? Let me know below 🙂 #nursingnotes #cardiaccare #cardiacnursing #heartblock #telemetry #medsurgnursing #completenursingschoolbundle #nurseinthemaking #RN #BSN #nursingschool #nursingstudents

The P wave 🌊 represents atrial depolarization (atria contracting). The QRS complex ⚡ shows ventricular depolarization (ventricles contracting), which is normally narrow and sharp. The T wave 🔄 indicates ventricular repolarization (recovery phase). Sometimes, a U wave may also appear, though its significance is not always clear. Important intervals include the PR interval ⏱️ (time from atrial to ventricular conduction) and the QT interval ⌛ (total time for ventricular depolarization and repolarization). Normal rhythm is called sinus rhythm 🎯, originating from the sinoatrial (SA) node. ECG reading also involves checking heart rate 💓, rhythm regularity, axis deviation, and any abnormalities like ST elevation 🚨 (suggesting myocardial infarction) or arrhythmias like atrial fibrillation 🔁. Overall, ECG is a quick, essential tool 🩺 that provides valuable information about heart function and helps guide emergency and routine cardiac care. #cardiology #cardiac #heart #medicaleducation #science

@roadto95mph
Full RPR Routine - Road to 95 RPR, or Reflexive Performance Reset, is a system of neuromuscular activation and self-care designed to “wake up” dormant or inhibited muscles by stimulating specific reflex points on the body—typically through manual pressure or rubbing. Based on principles drawn from applied kinesiology, chiropractic reflex therapy, and functional neurology, RPR aims to rewire and optimize the body’s neural sequencing patterns, ensuring that muscles fire in the correct order and at the right intensity. When these patterns are disrupted—often due to stress, poor posture, or past injuries—compensatory movement patterns emerge, increasing the risk of injury and reducing performance. In pitching and high-level fitness, this is critical: RPR helps activate key muscle groups like the glutes, core, and scapular stabilizers before training or throwing, improving biomechanics, force production, and joint integrity. For pitchers, RPR enhances coordination across the kinetic chain, helping to sequence the body correctly from the ground up, thereby increasing velocity potential while reducing strain on vulnerable areas like the shoulder and elbow. In fitness, RPR improves muscular recruitment and stability, helping athletes lift more safely and efficiently while minimizing energy leaks and performance plateaus. By creating a more neurologically efficient body, RPR acts as a pre-performance switchboard that enhances readiness, resilience, and recovery. #roadto95 #baseball #pitching #throwing #athlete #velo #speed #pitcher #baseballtraining #pitchingmechanics #throw #pitchingcoach #mlb #explore #mindset #baseballseason #baseballcards #baseballlife #food #cooking #nutrition #supplements #reading #learn
