Before I answer this question I do want to drop a DISCLAIMER right here. While I am comfortable talking about my eye and my journey with it (or without it to be more precise lol) not everyone with a Disability is comfortable doing so. When you ask about someone’s Disability you’re asking for their private medical information and if they don’t want to share, that’s okay. No one is entitled to an answer. Also, if you do ask please do it in a respectful manner. I definitely do not tolerate ableism or rudeness on my page for the safety and comfortability of me and our History Nerd Community here.
Now, what you have all gathered for, the story of how I lost my eye! I did contemplate doing my usual funny answers because let’s be honest it’s more entertaining. Lol. But alas, I decided I’d just go with the real story. When I was younger I was diagnosed with Cancer on my right eye. I was diagnosed with an Orbital Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor. After having surgery to remove the cancer and going through Radiation treatments, my cancer did return about 1-2 years later. At that point because my cancer was rare and they didn’t really know how aggressive it was the best course of action was to remove my eye and then go through several rounds of Chemo. After that I have been cancer free and thriving ever since! I love my eye and always have! I think it makes me unique 🥰
