NO"PANDAID FACE SHIELD"
We have developed a face shield that can be easily cut from an A4 size clear folder with no special equipment or tools.
The FACE SHIELD was created as part of PANDAID, a website to protect lives from pandemics. The face shield can be completed in about 30 seconds by simply placing the paper pattern in a clear file and cutting along the lines three times with scissors. In addition to distributing the stencils free of charge online, a video showing how to make the face shield was distributed on SNS and YouTube, and has been viewed more than a million times. This initiative, which has been covered by TV and other media, has generated a lot of sympathies, and many face shields have been distributed to medical institutions in Japan and overseas through voluntary production by medical institutions and donations from large corporations and individuals. This is a project that has created a situation where anyone can easily take action to participate in activities as their own through open design to solve the global problem of a chronic shortage of medical protective gear.

A4サイズのクリアファイルから簡単につくれるフェイスシールドを開発しました。
CLEAR FOLDER FACE SHIELDは、パンデミックから命をまもるためのプロジェクト「PANDAID」の一環として制作されました。このフェイスシールドは、型紙をクリアファイルに入れ、線に沿ってハサミで３回カットするだけでおよそ30秒で完成します。型紙をオンラインで無料配布するとともに、フェイスシールドのつくり方を紹介した映像をSNSやYouTubeで配信し、累計100万回以上再生されました。TVをはじめ各種メディアにも取り上げられたこの取り組みは多くの共感を生み、医療機関による自主生産や、大企業や個人からの寄付によって国内外の医療機関などに多くのフェイスシールドが行き渡ることになりました。医療用防具の慢性的な不足という世界的な課題に対して、オープンデザインによって誰もが簡単に自分ごととしてアクションを起こせる状況をつくり出したプロジェクトです。
