Nummular eczema is often misdiagnosed as ringworm and treated incorrectly with antifungals when it is niether infectious nor contagious. Nummular eczema appears as coin shaped patches on the skin, is itchy, usually located on the trunk, legs and/or arms and may be more common in people with darker skin tones. Reducing shower temperature, limiting shower duration & using thick emollients (especially on damp skin) can help. Prescription steroids from your dermatologist can also be used for treatment. #eczema #eczematreatment #nummulareczema #ringworm

🚨If it’s not better in 2 weeks, it’s time to see your dermatologist—it could be something more, like a superficial basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma in-situ.
