No—you can start in a NICU through Residency or Versant programs. Many nurses also transition from other units and bring great skills. 2️⃣ Résumé boosters: * NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) * STABLE (Sugar, Temp, Airway, BP, Labs, Emotional support) * PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) * Lactation/breastfeeding courses * CNA, Tech, or volunteer work in NICU/pediatrics * The @nicuity Masterclass (with résumé + interview prep) 3️⃣ Hardest part of NICU nursing?
It’s not just “holding babies.” NICU is high-stakes critical care: complex equipment, fragile patients, intense situations, and family support.
