SOULTRA RARE EXCLUSIVE
As most of you soultrainers know, O’Bryan was the protege of Don Cornelius within the 80s and he found himself among the hitmakers of the day with popular tracks like “The Gigolo,” “Lovelite,” and “You and I.” OB, alongside ( @keeperotln ) Melvin Lee Davis also created one of the most memorable themes for Soul Train, “Soul Train’s A-Comin,” used from ‘83-87.
However, it is little known that he was tapped for a Budweiser ad campaign and STF just happened to find it. Radio jingles featuring popular artists at the time often interpolated the artist’s hit to sell what they were selling. This is why it sounds awfully like “I’m Freaky.”
