CHI used to think opal was subtle and milky — not really my style.
What I really wanted was a piece of jewelry that was unique so I could feel like it was my own.
I kept looking at uncommon stones, maybe a tsavorite or druzy… and everything still felt repeatable.
Then I saw a natural Australian opal in real light and realized every single opal is different from every signal opal.
So I started collecting opals with actual color and eventually started making jewelry with them.
Now I work with this one of a kind gems — because she’s the only one that changes the whole story when she moves.

JUThese six opal rings have been here for a while now.
Made slowly, one at a time, with solid Australian opals and fine metals, the way I always work.
They’re not part of a “new release.”
They don’t need reinventing.
But I realised they haven’t really had their moment.
