The red-lipped batfish or Galápagos batfish is a fish of unusual morphology found around the Galápagos Islands and off Ecuador at depths of 3 to 76 m. Red-lipped batfish are closely related to rosy-lipped batfish, which are found near Cocos Island off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. May be these funny fish hold the secret to waterproof lipstick! 😅😂😂 🎥: @deepoceanworld #DeepSea #DeepOcean #SeaLife #OceanMystery #Underwater #deepseacreatures #Midwater #Reels #Nature #SeaCreatures #redlipped #nature #beautiful

Mudwalker Moment🌑🐟 In blue‑black night water, the sub glides steadily while the beam picks out a lone batfish crossing the bottom. Batfish Walk & Snap🤿🐟 A fixed external camera on the front‑right of a research sub drifts forward with a faint engine vibration, a thin sliver of matte hull on the left edge. White floodlights reveal rippled grey‑brown mud, scattered rocks, tiny burrows, and constant marine snow. A deep‑sea batfish “walks” slowly across the bottom on its arm‑like fins—then a tiny shrimp drifts near its face and it makes one quick snap capture, kicking up a small, realistic puff of sediment before freezing again near the edge of the beam. AIvideo Turn the sound on for low sub rumble, soft creaks, and the quiet rush of water. #DeepSea #ROV #Batfish #OceanExploration #CinematicVideo

#ikan #ikancupang #batam

மிகவும் விசித்திரமான..... செவ்வுதட்டு வௌவால் மீன் 🐠🐋🐟 பற்றி தெரியுமா❓ The Red-Lipped Batfish (Ogcocephalus darwini) is a unique fish from the Galápagos Islands known for its bright red lips and "walking" ability, using modified fins to move along the seafloor instead of swimming. It's a poor swimmer that uses its pectoral and pelvic fins like legs to crawl, and it uses a lure on its head to attract prey like small fish and crustaceans. Its vibrant lips are thought to attract mates, though scientists are still researching. . . . #செவ்வுதட்டுவௌவால்மீன் #RedlippedBatfish #PoorSwimmer #PelvicFins

The red lipped batfish, known amongst fish enthusiasts as the ladies of the night fish, is native to the deep waters surrounding the Galapagos Islands. The fish uses its distinctive cosmetic coloration to attract species outside its own taxonomic classification. It is well documented that fish from other species will freely copulate with the red lipped batfish when no same species mate is available. The behavioral and evolutionary implications of this phenomenon are not fully understood by experts. Despite a lack of understanding on why this occurs, the ladies of the night fish continues its copulation activities at an ever increasing rate. #redlippedbatfish #batfish #ocean #marinelife #deepsea

The red-lipped batfish isn’t a great swimmer, so it uses its pectoral fins like legs to walk along the seafloor. Native to the Galápagos Islands, it’s also known for its bright red lips, which scientists think may help it attract mates.
