i am considering making a separate post about this yarn and the place where i bought it, because that’s what makes it a little extra special to me 💙 i also made this sweater with a big trip in mind - it wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that i’ve been waiting my whole life for it, because i truly have. in early february i will try to go up kilimanjaro with my dear sailor friends, and i’ve been knitting this sweater while picturing it at the top of africa 🫣💙 this dream is so big it’s almost scary to think about, but here it is - out in the world. and i hope you’ll help me by keeping your fingers crossed so that this woolen pretty thing makes it all the way to the top! 🫶🥹🫣✨

BEAll the @ozetta sweaters I’ve knit 🧶 I started seriously knitting when my kids were really little and it was something I could pick up / put down (repeat) around the chaos and helped me feel grounded. Following knit patterns had been confusing for me until I first knit an Ozetta pattern and that’s when it all clicked for me! I actually made my first Towns Sweater for my mom and then right away casted one on for myself. ☺️

This is an example of a garment that desperately needed a block! Body and sleeves were too short and the colourwork scrunched up the fabric. Blocking relaxed it to a perfect fit.

WII am over the moon happy with my newest @ozetta sweater - the Great Lakes Pullover, a new staple in my wardrobe. Her patterns are always a joy to knit. If you want a similar fit, this is about 15” of positive ease which is a personal sweet spot for me. I believe you can cast on your very own Great Lakes when the pattern releases (Feb 8) tomorrow!

RUAnyone else choose minimalist patterns only to add things to them? 😂
I explored a few ideas to customize my Great Lakes Pullover by @ozetta - everything from gradients to polka dots - but in the end, I didn’t want to upstage the pretty pink.
So I decided to embroider it with a simple blanket stitch along the boarders using some scrap, hot pink yarn I had.
I love how this simple accent transformed this popular pullover pattern into something a little more unique.
Also, can I just say that after a three decade long career of wearing all black all the time, I’m really enjoying having more colour in my wardrobe!
It’s mood boosting to wear (and to knit).
