6 month old working line GSD. Big engine, sharp mind, still figuring out the world.
She’s with me for the next month to build the foundations properly and work through her reactivity around other dogs.
Today wasn’t about miles. It was about mindset.
Calm exposure. Clear guidance. No rehearsing bad decisions.
Confidence isn’t built by throwing dogs into chaos.
It’s built through structure, repetition and small wins stacked daily.
This is day one.

COOne week in and today was Zazu’s first proper pack walk.
When he arrived, he’d never truly socialised with other dogs. Loads of drive, big personality, but very little structure around it. Most dogs don’t struggle because they’re difficult, they struggle because no one has shown them how to be calm around others.
We spent the first week building foundation. Relationship first. Clear boundaries. Controlled exposure.
Today we linked up with @zoomiesk9training and gave him real socialisation, walking with a pack of balanced, neutral dogs in a structured setting.
Safe to say he absolutely smashed it.
Calm, engaged, able to switch off when needed. No overwhelm, no silly decisions.
This is why I don’t rush the process. When the foundations are solid, the environment stops being the problem.
From never properly socialised to confidently walking in a pack in seven days.
We’re only getting started.

PUFOLLOW ⬆️ Reactive Training
He’s not reactive due to not being out, we just never see people or other dogs unless we take a drive into town.
Today, like every weekend we covered over 5 miles, across farms, the moor, we come across cattle, sheep, ponies, and ZERO people.
We don’t see people or dog walkers where we live unless we drive into town.
It was only when we thought it would be nice to go for a walk a long some local trails that we realised he wasn’t very good with unknown dogs.
From there I took him to dog parks, it wasn’t no fun, especially with soo many people with off leash dogs and zero recall.
Then we started taking him into town and places where he could see dogs passing with zero chance of off leash dogs.
From there we’ve been working very hard on he’s socialisation work.
Blood, sweat and tears, determination, patience and a lot of time we’re actually making progress!
