I KNOW it’s hard 🫠 Trust me. All of the work that parents of ADHD kids are doing while managing their own ADHD. And you’re doing it while exhausted, overstimulated, and often wondering why nothing seems to “stick.” I want you to know that you were never meant to know how to best parent an ADHD child without support. I spent years getting my PhD specialized in ADHD parenting to learn the exact skills parents need to have a connected relationship with their child, less power struggles, and more joy. 👉 And I’m showing you exactly how inside of my course Connected & Practical Parenting (link to join in bio). There are 70+ bite-sized lessons to help you create a calmer home without micromanaging or burning yourself out. Comment CPP and I’ll send you the link to your DMs to join. PS-This isn’t just another to-do that’ll leave you more overwhelmed. You’ll walk away with practical tools after completing just one module. #parentingcourse #adhdparenting #adhdkids

You got problems? Was social media going offline one of them? You know, social media can be almost addictive for lots of people. Our teens aren't any different. There have been functional MRI studies of the brain that prove this. When we get likes and follows, it impacts the brain's reward center. It's like a hug or a validation. This reward region part of the brain is especially sensitive during the teen years. This can feel great when things are great. But....What about when things are bad? Like cyberbullying. Feeling left out. A complete shutdown of all media platforms. The solution? Balance out your life with things that bring joy, value, and connection beyond the screen. Help your teen do the same. Need help with this? Check out my online, pre-recorded, and comprehensive course for parents of teens and tweens (ages 9-19). I address screen time and helpful guidelines. The best thing you can do for your child’s brain… is step back. 🧠💛 It sounds counterintuitive, right? But when you give your toddler space to play on their own, their brain is actually working harder than ever — building focus, creativity, confidence, and emotional regulation. Independent play isn’t luck. It’s a skill — and you can teach it. Inside Independent Play: A Break for You, Growth for Them, I’ll show you exactly how to build this skill step-by-step so you can finally have calm, confident play in your home. ✨ 25% off today only (and even better perks if you’re one of the first 10 people 😉)✨ Because calm playtime doesn’t just happen — it’s built with intention. 👇 Comment “CALM” and I’ll send you the link! 💛 Send this to a friend who could use a few more peaceful mornings, too. #independentplay #toddlerplayideas #momhacks #intentionalparenting #calmparenting #playbasedlearning #toddleractivities #parentingcourse

People often believe the myth that anxious children are just too sensitive. It’s not that simple. Many of these kids actually feel too much because they care deeply. They pick up on other people’s emotions before anyone else does. They sense when things are off. And when the world feels unpredictable, their nervous system sounds the alarm. It’s not oversensitivity. It is empathy without filtration. These kids don’t need to be toughened up. They need our help learning to regulate a normal and once very useful system that just works overtime sometimes. Anxious kids, remind us to pay attention. #parenting #connectedparenting #parentingtips #childpsychiatrist #parentingcourse #anxiouschild #sensitive #myth

I went for my monthly massage this weekend. I started doing this in May after severe neck and shoulder pain (I found out I have arthritis in my neck 😬). At first, I tried fixing the problem on my own, but was miserable. Nothing worked. After months of physical therapy, massages, and at-home exercises, I am now pain free 🤗 Seeking out the help of qualified professionals helped me get on the right track toward physical and mental health (because chronic pain truly takes a toll on your thoughts and emotions). Why am I talking about this? Because....just as your body and your mind are important....so is your relationship with your tween and teen. You have your body, your mind, and your parent-child relationship for life. How many people are willing to invest in pedicures, hair appointments, luxurious trips, nice meals, massages, and even daily coffee, but hesitate when it's time to invest in their parenting? Stop doing it on your own hoping things will change. Allow a professional who has dedicated time and expertise to help you. What now? In case you didn't hear, my new online parenting course can do just that. It is called Parenting Teens, Tweens & Everything In Between. You will learn how to reconnect, repair, redeem, and rejuvenate your relationship with your 9 to 19 year old in 9 modules. Early Bird pricing ($100 off) is going on right now, but only for a limited time. Link is in my Bio and in Stories. Are you in? ❗️Don't be discouraged. It can be tricky talking to our kids—even the littles. Here are a few things to do: 🔹Be intentional about making time for communication. 🔹Communicate and at times use words. Your touch, hug, expressions, and cuddles are part of the tool set. We often lean too heavily on the perfect words. 🔹Repeat! Even toddlers are learning to decode language by your tone, body language, inflection, and pace of language. If you’re struggling on where to begin, don’t forget to download my free checklist to help you get started on building a better connection. This is a hard habit to break! I had to practice cutting the “uh” ✂️ off the letter sounds when teaching too once I realized kids were reading “cat” as “cuh-a-tuh”. This might seem like a lot to keep in mind but I put all this info & more that you’d need to teach the letter sounds in my courses! #parentingcourse #letterrecognition #phonics #toddlerscanread

READ 👇 Your child’s body remembers the fear. But even more than that, their mind starts creating stories around it. Stories like: 💭 “Love disappears when I mess up.” 💭 “Peace only exists when everyone else is calm.” Those stories become wiring. And wiring becomes behavior. Here are 5 patterns your child might be learning right now 👇 1️⃣ Hypervigilance They notice every sigh, every slammed drawer. Their brain learns that safety means prediction. 👉 “If I can see it coming, I can survive it.” 2️⃣ Overthinking / Perfectionism They replay moments again and again. Their brain ties love to performance. 👉 “If I’m perfect, no one will get mad.” 3️⃣ People-Pleasing / Fawning They tiptoe around everyone’s emotions. They believe calm equals safety. 👉 “My needs don’t matter as much as yours.” 4️⃣ Emotional Avoidance They shut down when things get intense. Their brain confuses quiet with safety. 👉 “It’s safer not to feel.” 5️⃣ Shame & Control They take the blame for everything. And later, they try to control what they can to feel safe again. 👉 “If I’m better, maybe you’ll stay.” If this hits close to home… take a breath. 🌿 You’re not a bad parent. You’re a parent who was never shown another way. Now that you see it, you can change it. 💛 You can retrain your mind. You can heal old wiring. You can raise calm kids — by becoming the calm they need. That’s exactly what I help you do inside my Stop Yelling Challenge ✨ Join hundreds of parents learning to lead with calm, connection, and confidence — one moment at a time. 💬 Comment “ CALM ” below and I’ll send you the link to join 🌿 Link in bio to join today. #StopYellingChallenge #CalmParenting #PositiveParenting #GentleParenting #ParentingWithLove #MindfulParenting #ParentingGrowth #PeacefulParenting #ParentingTips #BreakingTheCycle #ParentingSupport #EmotionalRegulation #ParentingJourney #ParentingCommunity #ParentingHelp #ThePositiveParenting #ParentingAwareness #ParentingTransformation #ParentingMindset #RaisingKindKids #ParentingEducation #ParentingCourse #ParentingChallenge

Those 4 factors often dictate how we approach helping people with ADHD. When children/teens are having struggles in at least two environments such as: home, in the community, playground, school settings due to ADHD then seeking support with medication and therapy can be tremendously helpful. Children who struggle over a prolonged period with chronic failures in their academic pursuits, relationally with peers, and feeling unable to “do anything right” are at increased risk for high-risk behavior such as school failure and substance use.
