Sharing my experience to help you prepare better: Save for later! 1. You don’t need to go up the Eiffel Tower: the view of the Eiffel Tower is better & more charming from Trocadero or any closeby rooftop! 2. There are scams everywhere: beware of the “friendship bracelet” scam at Sacre-Coeur or “petition” scam at other tourist spots. Just don’t engage if strangers stop you to ask! 3. Pickpockets are pro: watch your belongings, dress to blend in & don’t flaunt your designer shopping bags 4. Air conditioning is optional: hotels, restaurants, or even public transport might not have it. Avoid Paris in peak summer months! Elevators are optional too, check before booking your hotel or bnb! 5. Paris isn’t always romantic: expect curfews, protests, unexpected shut down of tourist attractions, random graffiti & an occasional bad smell - all part of the charm! 6. People WILL judge your French pronunciation: Greet with a polite “Bonjour!” and continue in English if you don’t know French 7. The Seine is dirtier than how social media romanticizes it: No, you cannot swim in it -there is a fine! 8. Parisian wait staff is not rude, they are just efficient: they won’t check on you constantly, no small talk and you have to ask for the bill #parisvibe Things to do in Paris, Mistakes to avoid in Paris, Must know before visiting Paris, Paris itinerary, Paris hidden gems, Paris travel guide #parisvibes

🇫🇷 Guide’s tip: Which areas of Paris are worth staying in for tourists Paris has 20 arrondissements — and each one has its own personality. If you want to feel the city, not just sleep in it, here are my favorites 👇 🏛 1st–7th arrondissements — the heart of Paris. Close to the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, and the Seine. Beautiful architecture and postcard views — ideal for a first visit (but yes, it’s pricey). ☕️ Le Marais (3rd–4th) — stylish, vibrant, and full of charm. Coffee shops, museums, boutique stores, and the spirit of old Paris. 🎨 Montmartre (18th) — artistic and bohemian. If you don’t mind the hills and a few tourists, the mornings here are magic. 🌿 Canal Saint-Martin (10th) — trendy, local, and a bit hipster. Lots of cafés, street art, and that authentic Parisian everyday vibe. 🍷 Saint-Germain-des-Prés (6th) — elegant and literary. Classic bistros, antique shops, and that timeless Paris charm. 🏙 Batignolles (17th) — calm, cozy, and full of parks. A real Parisian neighborhood with fewer tourists and more locals. ⸻ 👋 I’m Masha — a Paris guide for adults and kids. Here I share my favorite spots, hidden gems, and ways to experience the real Paris 💛 ✨ Bonus from your Paris guide: ➕ Follow + “+” in comments → list of free museums in Paris 🌸 Follow + “spring” → guide to the best spring events in the city

I have been working as a guide in Paris for 4 years, and these are the places I don’t recommend — and what to do instead 👇 ❌ Champs-Élysées (8th arrondissement) Why not: overcrowded, full of chain stores, and cafés like Le Fouquet’s (99 Av. des Champs-Élysées) charge high prices for mediocre food. ✅ Instead: wander through Le Marais (3rd & 4th arr.) — boutique shops, authentic bakeries, and lively streets where Parisians actually go. ❌ Moulin Rouge (82 Bd de Clichy, 18th arrondissement) Why not: tickets are overpriced, shows are tourist-oriented, and nearby restaurants are often low quality. ✅ Instead: book a cabaret at Au Lapin Agile (22 Rue des Saules, Montmartre) or enjoy live jazz at Caveau de la Huchette (5 Rue de la Huchette, Latin Quarter) for a more authentic vibe. ❌ Pont des Arts (1st arrondissement) Why not: once famous for love locks, now mostly crowded and has lost its charm. ✅ Instead: enjoy breathtaking views from Pont Alexandre III or take a sunset stroll along Pont Neuf for a real Parisian atmosphere. ❌ Les Halles / Westfield Forum des Halles (101 Porte Berger) Why not: a chaotic, generic shopping mall with fast food and touristy brasseries around. ✅ Instead: visit Rue Montorgueil — a historic market street filled with cheese shops, bakeries, and cozy bistros. ❌ Montparnasse Tower (33 Av. du Maine, 15th arrondissement) Why not: expensive entry for a view blocked by glass. ✅ Instead: head to the Printemps Rooftop Terrace (64 Bd Haussmann) — free access with a stunning panoramic view of Paris. ✨ Paris is full of hidden gems — skip the tourist traps and explore where locals actually spend their time! Hi, I’m Masha — a tour guide in Paris for adults and children. Here I share stories about my favorite city, life in Paris, and of course, my tours! How Not to Be Disappointed in Paris I’ve been living and working as a guide in Paris for several years, and I always say one thing: Paris isn’t about seeing everything, it’s about feeling the city. Here are my tips to make sure your first trip doesn’t turn into frustration 👇 1️⃣ Stay closer to the center. The further you go, the less “Paris” it feels. The real charm — the rhythm, the architecture, the atmosphere — lives in the heart of the city. 2️⃣ Skip the overrated tourist cafés. They’re usually expensive and not that tasty. Choose local, authentic spots where Parisians actually eat — I often share my favorites on my blog 🥐 3️⃣ Don’t try to see everything at once. Focus on a few places that truly inspire you. Paris has layers — it’s better to explore it slowly and deeply. 4️⃣ Don’t miss Paris at night. Nightlife here is incredible — clubs, bars, live music, lights, dancing. Paris after dark is not the same city you see during the day 🌃 5️⃣ Plan ahead. Book your museum, exhibition, and Eiffel Tower tickets early — otherwise, you might find them sold out or pay three times the price. For example, people buy Eiffel Tower tickets up to three months in advance! 🎟 ⸻ I’d love to hear your tips too — what would you say are the best ways not to ruin your trip to Paris, especially if it’s your first time here? 💭 Share in the comments 💬 Hi, I’m Masha — a tour guide in Paris for both adults and KIDS 🇫🇷 Here I share stories about my favorite city, life in it, and of course, my guided tours! Follow me so you don’t miss anything 💫 ✨ As a thank-you for following and sending me a “+” in DMs, I’ll gift you a list of all the free museums in Paris ✨

Paris isn’t what Instagram sold you 🇫🇷💀 Most tourists break these laws on Day 1… and pay for it. Some of these will genuinely shock you. Save this before your trip… or learn the hard way 👇 1. Eiffel Tower pics at night? Not fully legal. You can click—but posting commercially can get you in trouble. 2. Throwing even a cigarette butt = €135 fine. Yes, that small mistake costs big. 3. Jaywalking? Not as chill as you think. Police can fine you anytime. 4. Drinking in public? Depends on the area. Wrong zone = penalty. 5. Loud after 10 PM? Problem. Neighbors WILL complain. Police WILL come. 6. No metro ticket? Don’t risk it. Inspections are common and fines are heavy. 7. Feeding pigeons? Completely banned. Sounds harmless… it’s not. 8. Spitting in public? Still punishable. Old rule, still enforced. 9. Buying fake luxury from street sellers? You get fined too. Not just them. 10. Taking random people’s photos? Careful. Privacy laws are strict here. Paris is beautiful… but it will fine you faster than it welcomes you. Which one shocked you the most? 👇 #parishacks #paristrip #france🇫🇷
