BR“Patintero,” was a popular Filipino street game back in the 80’s and 90’s.
Playing this street game until dusk have traumatized kids, now millennials— especially when parents would yell tasting threats “makakatikim ka sa ‘kin!” countdowns like, “Pagbilang ko ng tatlo at wala ka pa rito!” and premature independence, “Diyan ka na lang sa labas tumira!” all while holding some form of slippers or a tree branch in their hands. In the city nowadays though, trees are scarce.
Those days are gone in fear of parents being shamed and canceled on Social Media. Street games have also mostly been taken over by gadgets and other forms of screen gaming technology. #life #streetgames #kids #fun #90s #games #patintero
