SETransform a basic dart bodice to this ✨dreamy✨ princess seam bodice 💖✂️👸
This pattern hack is simple enough for beginners but don't try it without reading these tips first for success:
1. Adding the little notches are critical to using this pattern afterwards. This will help you align the two pieces when sewing and let's you know where you need to take in ease. So don't skip that little step!
2. This pattern hack/manipulation will NOT change the fit of the original bodice pattern. So don't use this to take in a bodice that's too big or think it will add a size. This is simply a moving of darts which means you will not be changing anything about how design is.
3. Be sure to take note when doing this pattern hack if your pattern has seam allowance or not. This was a bodice block that I was using without seam allowance but regardless of if the bodice you are hacking has seam allowance or not, you will need to add seam allowance to the NEW seam lines along the front so you can sew them together.
4. Be sure to use paper that is sturdy. I used Swedish tracing paper from @wawaksewing here but butchers or pattern drafting paper works well too!
