A founder DMed me after my last post: "I calculated contribution margin. It's around 10–15%. Now how do I actually increase profit?" Okay..let me answer. If your margin is low, you don't need better ads. You need basic fixes. Start with- 1) Increase AOV (Same customers, more money): Example: - AOV = ₹1,000 - CPA = ₹300 Most brands try to reduce that ₹300. But faster way? 👉 Bundle and sell at ₹1,499. Same ad spend. Same traffic. But more profit per order. One thing: Don't bundle random products just to clear stock. Bundle things that actually make sense together. That's what works long term. 2) Reduce Returns (This is where money leaks): If 20% of orders are getting returned, you're losing money silently. Simple fixes: • Partial COD When customers pay something upfront, fake orders reduce. • Better product info on website → Proper size charts (not copy-paste ones) → Show product from all angles → Add real customer videos When people know exactly what they're getting, returns automatically drop. • Give small benefits for prepaid → 5% discount for prepaid → Faster delivery → Free gift Even if returns drop by 5%, your profit will increase directly. 3) Stop Giving Heavy Discounts Every Week: Many brands give 20–30% off just to maintain ROAS. But understand one thing: Customers don't like paying more… but they love getting more. Better way: → "Free gift if you buy above ₹1,299" → "Free shipping above ₹999" → "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" This increases order value without reducing your base price. Profit increases only when you fix the basics. Stop waiting for ads to save you. Fix the leaks first. Protect it. Then scale. [ lead generation, performance marketing, meta ads ]
