LEIn the Old Testament the Holy Spirit
did not live inside people.
He visited them.
He came upon Samson for strength.
Upon David for kingship.
Upon the prophets to speak.
But He could leave.
David’s most desperate prayer after his
sin was not forgive me.
It was — do not take your Holy Spirit
from me.
Because he had watched what happened
when He left.
The Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul.
And an evil spirit tormented him instead.
Then Jesus said something that should
have devastated His disciples.
It is better for you that I go away.
Because if I don’t go the Helper cannot come.
The permanent indwelling required the
completed work of the cross.
And then Pentecost happened.
The same Spirit that visited Samson
temporarily now lives inside every
believer permanently.
Not visiting. Not departing. Living.
David begged God not to take Him.
You cannot lose Him.
The cross made sure of it. 🙏
