The greatest fulfillment, meaning, and joy in your life will likely come from areas that school never prepared you for. If you don’t know how to use lifelong learning to find truth, build confidence, and succeed in what actually matters most, you’ll always feel uncertain and dependent on outside authority. But imagine being the authority in your own life, able to listen to experts, gather information, and confidently discern truth for yourself. When you can identify truth first, you can learn it, live it, and let it liberate you. Highly Ambitious Edition✨ A personal curriculum is a self-directed learning approach that lets you create your own “course” on topics you’re passionate about. Think of it as topic immersion, where you dive deep into subjects that spark curiosity and interest you. Try focusing on three pillars, like personal growth, business, and cooking, to create a structured plan for learning! To get started, identify areas you want to explore and develop a lesson plan tailored to your interests. You can curate books, sign up for online courses, or assign yourself projects. Resources like Ci The New York Public Library and online platforms can help you build your curriculum ?.

My goals for 2026 and beyond are crystal clear. I’m willing to do what it takes to get what I want. I don’t focus on how I feel doing the work. I focus on how I’ll feel becoming the person who reaches the vision. Personal preference doesn’t get to limit impact. Comfort doesn’t get to be the ceiling. Commitment sets the standard. Comment “Something Bigger” for the full episode! 🎙️✨ We spend hours trying to cram information into students’ heads, often with very little to show for it. 🧠 While we focus on rote memorization, we’re neglecting the very things that actually determine success in the real world: Life Skills. Ask any parent, and they’ll tell you the real reason they send their kids to school is for socialization, learning how to communicate, collaborate, and navigate human relationships. It’s time to stop prioritizing the “cram” and start prioritizing the person. 🌍 #SomethingBigger #MindsetMatters #SelfGrowth #SuccessHabits #InnerPeace

I love this reference so much because I have found the whole personal development journey to be completely non-linear. I’ve never arrived at a place where I’m healed; I make progress, I grow and then an emotion is triggered and I take a step backwards. It’s about being so in touch with yourself, so self aware that you’re able to catch yourself when you’re doing something as simple as comparing yourself to others, and re-focus your mind on what’s truly important to you. A huge thank you to Barbara Burgess (@corlumac) for her wonderful insights in last week’s episode. Thanks to @emonthebrain for the inspiring reminder that it’s OK to be extreme in your approach to life, to want to “swallow it whole.” Here’s my pop-science take: When you’re fully committed (not “kind of trying”), your brain treats the goal as identity-relevant. Why is that so powerful? Because the brain processes identity-relevant goals as essential to self-preservation. Your identity goals dominate your attention. I see this with our students when they find something they genuinely care about. And I see it in myself (that’s why I’m here at the end of a long day still creating content) Once a goal is identity-relevant, those questions-“Should I do this?” “Is it worth it?” “What if I fail?” “Am I capable?”-lose their grip. The brain no longer evaluates WHETHER to act, only HOW. That’s why fully committed people seem “disciplined.” They’re not, actually. They’ve just quieted the internal debate loop in their head. When things get difficult, it doesn’t trigger avoidance in the brain, it triggers engagement. That’s why half-committed people quit when it gets hard, and fully committed people go all in. Extrinsic motivation (rewards, deadlines, external pressure) is fragile. Identity-based motivation is self-generated. Once a goal is part of who you are, the brain releases dopamine for showing up, for seeing progress (not just winning). This is why our students who’ve found their “thing” don’t need us to push them. They push themselves. When your behavior aligns with your identity, the brain feels coherence. Fully committed people keep going because not acting would feel worse than the effort itself. The most beautiful part? When the goal is identity-relevant, you’re no longer “trying to succeed.” You’re simply expressing who you are. This is what I want for all of our students: to experience who they are when they’re fully invested in something that matters to them. #collegeadmissions #darienct #katestone

Everything I teach comes back to three things: Clarity. Capacity. Commitment. If you’re stuck, overwhelmed, or spinning your wheels, one of these is usually missing. 🎧 In Ep. 69, I break down why this framework works and how to know which “C” needs your attention right now.
