KEOne of the things I wasn’t quite prepared for going into my first IVF cycle was the steep attrition following egg retrieval. It was kind of a shock to me, but many of us learn the hard way that it’s all about quality, not quantity.
After my last cycle, which ultimately yielded one single embryo and resulted in a devastating miscarriage for me, I was overjoyed to learn that I have 3 embryos this time.
That’s 3 chances for a successful pregnancy… and as I keep reminding myself, sometimes it only takes one. 🤍

1. Acaba zona pellüsida lazerle açılmamış olsaydı bu embriyo gelişimine devam edebilir miydi?
2. Bu kadar tuhaf bölünmelerin sonucu olarak acaba bu embriyonun genetik yapısı öploid miydi?
3. Acaba gebelik getirdi mi?
Cevapları bilmiyorum ama tahminlerim var tabii ki☺️
Gördüğünüz gibi embriyoların 7/24 izlenmesi bize çok ilginç sahneler sunuyor. Umarım bu sistemler ve algoritmalar bize yakın zamanda hangi embriyonun genetik olarak sağlıklı olduğunu bölünmeleri üzerinden söyler de girişimsel işlemler yapmamıza gerek kalmaz!

KESurreal waking up Officially Pregnant (!!) every morning, but with the overwhelming fear of impermanence. I’m nearly 5 weeks now and a little panicky that I’m not experiencing any symptoms yet. I felt like I already had symptoms by now last time. Very anxious for one additional confirmatory blood draw tomorrow, just to ensure everything is still doubling. Then a week later, the official 6 week scan. 😮💨 And somewhere in there, I need to schedule time to exhale - it feels too scary to take a celebratory moment quite yet but I’m reminding myself this time will have a different outcome because it’s different embryo. 🤍🤍🤍

Fondata nel 2017, l’azienda è stata la prima a sviluppare il #PGT-P, un test genetico in grado di prevedere lo sviluppo di #malattie future negli embrioni. La sua crescita è stata rapida, raccogliendo 24 milioni di dollari da finanziatori privati per perfezionare la tecnologia. Tra questi, c’è anche Sam Altman, il fondatore di #OpenAi (e di #ChatGPT). “Siamo i primi al mondo a sviluppare questa tecnologia. Abbiamo iniziato qualche anno fa in un incubatore di #startup di #biotecnologia. Poi siamo cresciuti”, racconta alle telecamere di #InMezzora #Treff.
Ma come funziona questa tecnologia? “Al momento siamo in grado di prevedere dodici patologie. #Diabete, #tumori, #malattiecardiache e anche la #schizofrenia. I nostri servizi si riferiscono solo alla previsione delle malattie. I pazienti ricevono i dati grezzi del nostro esame genetico, e poi li fanno analizzare ad altre società”, chiarisce #Treff.
A usare i test, ci sono diversi #pronatalisti, tra cui la famiglia #Collins. L’obiettivo fissato da #GenomicPrediction? “Attenuare i rischi” e “capitalizzare sul potenziale della vita”.
Ma non mancano le critiche. “La #Silicon Valley vuole fare dei super-bambini e non dovrebbe”, il titolo apparso su alcuni media americani, che criticano il nuovo ruolo dell’industria tech nel business della genetica umana. “Penso che sia entusiasmante avere l’opportunità di fare qualcosa per i tuoi figli. Questo è il futuro”, dice Treff.
