Please don't get flagged for plagiarism because even without DraftCoach or TurnitIn or all the other AI plagiarism checkers available to your tutors, you know they can tell, especially if they're good at their jobs. They can smell plagiarism from miles away!
Tbh, I've plagiarised myself before 😂 In my defence tho,It was first year of PhD.
And having to go into a warning meeting for that was funny and cute but also a lil embarassing for me ngl.
Fast foward to July 2024, i'm now giving micro seminars on how to avoid plagiarism even with AI, at least I got a few giggles from my group my group sharing my self-plagiarism story!

JE1. I’m excited for the future
I have enough savings for two years to give my dreams a fair shot. That’s why you’re seeing this post. I’m taking what I learned from my PhD so I can help others struggling like I did, and that really fulfills me. I’ve developed my science illustration business to provide some financial support for now, and I’ve got bigger and better plans with sci-art.
2. I’m scared of the future
The longer I go unemployed post-grad, the less relevant I’ll become to some opportunities. I’ve seen job postings for postdocs that look for recently graduated PhDs. I have a mouth to feed now, and so if my two year plan doesn’t work out, I’ll have to give in so I can provide. But only until then!
3. I’m not sure if a PhD was for me
For my whole life, I let others determine for me what success is. Becoming a different kind of doctor felt sufficient to fill the hole left by med school rejections. But after I moved out and figured myself out, I was already more than half way through my PhD. Now I’m pursuing what I truly believe career success is: work that is fulfilling, helpful, and pays with time rather than money.
4. I worry I’m in over my head
I hear this is normal for an entrepreneur with a worthy pursuit, but I still have mini panic attacks thinking about what if this doesn’t work.
5. I’ve put too much into this to quit now
Thousands of dollars and hours already invested. Sacrificed time from family so that I can gain that time back and more so I can be a present father.
