ONThe best philly cheesesteak Recipe ⬇️
For the steak filling:
1 lb thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
Chilli
1–2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon oil (vegetable or canola)
Grated Mozzarella
Cheese slices
For the cheese sauce:
4–6 cheese slices (American-style works best)
¼–⅓ cup milk
Pinch of paprika
Pinch of salt
To serve:
2–3 hoagie rolls or sub rolls
🔪 Step 1: Cook the Peppers & Onions
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add sliced onion and green bell pepper.
Cook 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly browned.
Remove from pan and set aside.
🥩 Step 2: Cook the Steak
Increase heat to medium-high.
Add thinly sliced steak in a single layer.
Season with salt and black pepper.
Let sear briefly, then flip and chop into smaller pieces with a spatula.
Cook just until no longer pink (about 2–3 minutes).
🔥 Step 3: Add Flavor
Return the cooked peppers and onions to the pan with the steak.
Add sliced chilli
Splash in Worcestershire sauce.
Stir well and cook for 30–60 seconds to let the flavors combine.
Add cheeses and let it melt
🧀 Step 4: Make the Cheese Sauce
In a small saucepan over low heat, add cheese slices.
Pour in a little milk and stir continuously.
Add more milk gradually until smooth and pourable.
Season with a pinch of paprika and salt.
Keep warm on very low heat.
🥖 Step 5: Assemble
Lightly toast hoagie rolls if desired.
Spoon the hot steak, pepper, and onion mixture into each roll.
Pour warm cheese sauce generously over the top.
Serve immediately.
