How to Extract Texture in Photoshop 🎨🫟 1. Find a reference�Choose a rock texture photo, preferably flat and top-down for easy scaling or distortion. 2. Simplify the photo�Add a new layer filled with a slightly darker color.�Set it to Darken and merge—this reduces noise while keeping cracks visible. 3. Isolate the cracks�With the Magic Wand (W), select the light areas.�Go to Select → Inverse, then press Ctrl/Cmd + J to copy the cracks onto a new layer. 4. Make a black-and-white drawing first. Tap the magic wand icon at the top and choose Gradient Map. Gradient Map remaps your artwork’s light and dark values to colors on a gradient: darkest areas get the colors on the left of the gradient, lightest areas get the colors on the right, and everything in between blends based on brightness. To customize it, tap the gradient bar. Drag the existing color stops to change where shadows, midtones, and highlights fall. Tap below the bar to add new coloristops and build your own color scheme. You can also lower the layer’s opacity (or change its blend mode) for a more subtle look, or keep it at full strength for a bold, dramatic shift. #procreatetutorial #procreatetips #capcut #procreateart
