Comment: ADHD to take my full Primitive Reflex + ADHD live webinar next Wednesday! These activities are proven to help organize the brain, improve ocular motor skills, integrate reflexes and potentially improve ADHD symptoms as well! I cover A LOT of research in this live webinar! If you can’t make it live, you can watch the recording for a year! If you need a physical guide- check out my Crawling for Brain Development program - 5 weeks of daily activities all similar to these! (The book is shown in the last clip!) Comment REGULATE and I’ll send you my sensory regulation guide for each age group! As both a parent and a paediatric OT, these are the 4 movements I actually use at home when my child is overwhelmed, unfocused, or starting to dysregulate. They’re simple, quick, and work because they give the brain the sensory input it needs to calm and organise again. Here’s why they help 👇 • Figure-8 tracking: combines eye movement + head movement → supports focus, coordination, and visual regulation. • Cross-crawl: activates both sides of the brain and supports body organisation. • Rhythmic rocking: slow, predictable movement helps down-regulate the nervous system. • Palm push: proprioception is one of the fastest ways to create that “ahh, I can breathe again” feeling. None of these are about “fixing behaviour.” They’re about supporting a nervous system that’s asking for help.

Human psychology 101: we’re wired to repeat what gets positively reinforced. It’s the same principle we see with young children. Praise the behavior you want more of, and they’re more likely to repeat it. Adults aren’t so different. If you want someone to do more of something, don’t criticize what’s missing... Acknowledge what’s working. Recognition motivates. Affirm the action you want more of, and you’re far more likely to see it again. Have you noticed this happens to you? Let me know!

How powerful to be able to form new ways of living! 🫶 Choosing regulated responses over reactive habits takes practice. It is something that’s learned through intention and self compassion. Teaching clients about neuroplasticity is so wholesome. It’s scientifically proven that your brain has the ability to change and adapt, even when we may not think so during different seasons of life. you are not lazy. you are patterned. and patterns can be rewired. discipline is not a personality trait. it’s a neural pathway. your brain is designed for efficiency. when you repeat a behavior, especially one paired with emotion or relief, certain neurons fire together. over time, through hebb’s law (“neurons that fire together wire together”), those connections strengthen. the pathway becomes faster, more automatic, and eventually gets stored in the basal ganglia, your habit center. that’s why procrastination, inconsistency, or late-night overeating can feel almost unconscious. that’s not a flaw in your character. that’s neurobiology. neuroplasticity is your brain’s ability to reorganize and form new connections based on repeated experience. it is adapting every day to what you repeatedly think, feel, and do. and here’s the part most people overlook: the thoughts you repeat, you become. self-talk is not harmless background noise. when you constantly think “i’m lazy,” “i have no discipline,” or “i always mess this up,” you are firing and reinforcing that identity circuit. your brain does not know you’re “just venting.” it encodes repetition. it builds pathways to match the story you tell. your brain is always listening. and it is always changing to align with what you practice. the same mechanism that wired the old habits can wire new ones. when you repeat small, aligned actions, and pair them with intentional thoughts, you strengthen new circuits. old ones weaken from lack of use (this is called synaptic pruning). over time, what felt forced becomes natural. discipline isn’t something you are. it’s something you wire through repetition, in behavior and in thought. so speak carefully. act consistently. repeat intentionally. the mai body method is the first program to ever combine neuroplasticity, nutrition, and fat loss science. Power isn’t loud. It’s controlled. Most people leak energy reacting, oversharing, and chasing validation. That’s not a motivation problem — it’s a performance psychology and discipline problem. Comment ‘YES’ and I will send you the framework! These 6 laws are not inspiration. They are behavioral science–based control systems. This is about: • self-control • discipline training • identity-based behavior change • emotional regulation • high performance psychology When you master how you respond, what you ignore, and where you place your time, your cognitive performance and influence shift automatically. No motivation. No hype. Just behavioral mechanics, performance psychology, and identity control. Follow if you’re done playing small. #performancepsychology #behavioralscience #discipline #selfcontrol #identitypsychology #highperformance #cognitiveperformance #braintraining

Society praises your "hyper-independence" as a superpower. Clinical science sees a nervous system stuck in survival mode. When you pride yourself on never needing anyone, you aren't actually demonstrating strength. You are demonstrating a biological adaptation. If we look at the foundational research on Attachment Theory, we see exactly how this forms. When early environments consistently fail to meet a child's emotional needs, the autonomic nervous system adapts by suppressing the instinct to rely on others. The biological calculation is simple: reaching out for help causes pain or disappointment, so we shut down the behavior entirely to survive. You didn't become hyper-independent because you are a "boss." You became hyper-independent to protect yourself. Clinical Source: Bowlby, J. (1969). Attachment and Loss: Vol. 1. Attachment. This looks productive. Biologically, it’s a slow disaster ⚠️. We were built for near-constant, low-level movement. Walking. Foraging. Carrying. Our entire physiology was shaped around motion 🚶 Obviously our environment doesn’t require those things anymore. But we’re not helping either. We easily sit for 8–12 hours a day. Then, we complain we don’t understand how our lower back hurts, how we don’t feel well, how we gain weight so easily … 🪑 Let’s understand it 🔍 Within the first hour of sitting, your metabolic rate drops by nearly 90%. ⏰ Enzymes slow down. Why would they need to work ? Nothing is happening. Blood pools in the lower extremities. 🩸 Circulation slows down. 🐌 Your spine absorbs compressive load. ⬇️ Over time, this becomes a pattern your nervous system normalizes. But the effects are not only physiological. They’re also psychological 🧠. There’s a concept called hedonic adaptation — your brain’s tendency to treat new conditions as the new baseline. The discomfort you felt sitting all day in your first desk job? You stopped noticing it. Your body adapted. But not no in a good way. Also, the longer you stay in a sedentary state, the harder it becomes to break it. Inertia works on your habits the same way it works in physics. A body at rest tends to stay at rest. This is why “just move more” advice almost never works on its own. It’s not because you’re lazy. You’re up against deeply engraved patterns tha you don’t know have been developing for years on end. Actionable Advice ✅ Design your environment so that you don’t need willpower. Set a timer every 30 to 60 min — not as a reminder, but as a non-negotiable cue. Take your calls standing or walking. Place your water across the room. Stack movement onto habits you already have. But also build new ones. 2 minutes of walking every 30 minutes has been shown to offset many of the metabolic consequences of prolonged sitting. You don’t need to block out a whole hour to work out. Even small bouts of movement help. If you don’t know where to start, DM me “HEALTH” 🌱

The key to lasting behavioral change ISN’T what you think… Our behaviours are inherently tied to the perceptions we hold about ourselves. When we change the way we define ourselves, our actions naturally align to support this new self-concept. The research on identity-based habits is fascinating (I came across it while doing research for my PhD). It’s been primarily explored in the context of health and consumer behavior, as well as in educational context (specifically the link between identity & motivation of student to learn). 📚 Here’s a selection of early research: –Oyserman, D., Fryberg, S. A., & Yoder, N. (2007). Identity-based motivation and health. Journal of personality and social psychology, 93(6), 1011. –Berger, J., & Rand, L. (2008). Shifting signals to help health: Using identity signaling to reduce risky health behaviors. Journal of Consumer Research, 35(3), 509-518. –Kaplan, A., & Flum, H. (2009). Motivation and identity: The relations of action and development in educational contexts—An introduction to the special issue. Educational Psychologist, 44(2), 73-77. More recently, authors like James Clear have popularized the concepts. If you’re interested in learning more about habits, I recommend Atomic Habits. A fantastic synthesis of research coupled a highly applicable framework.
