3 common mistakes I see from women my age, who are struggling to lose fat. 1- Scared to build muscle- you don’t want to lift too much weight because you don’t want to ‘bulk up’ so end up just not training hard enough in the gym. Without intensity nothing will happen. Training like your Pilates instructor won’t make you look like your Pilates instructor- sorry 🙏🏻 2- Eating low calorie foods and chasing a calorie deficit often leads to eating low nutritional value. Without a good spectrum of micronutrients you will just end up tired and sick and cravings will sky rocket. 3- Losing weight too fast will increase the % of muscle loss. You might not want to be ‘muscular’ but losing muscle = reduced metabolic rate & long term % fat gain. Eat and train to perform, nourish and recover. I say it because I care. 🔸Follow for more training truths x

As a Pilates instructor, these are small adjustments I correct in class almost every day. Because in Pilates, small details can completely change whether the exercise works the way it’s meant to. A small correction can instantly change which muscles activate, how supported your spine feels, and how effective the movement becomes. Here are a few common mistakes I see daily in my classes: ✨ Losing pelvic stability in planks Instead of letting the lower back arch and the glutes push back, gently tuck the pelvis in and engage the deep core. Think about drawing the ribs toward the hips so the spine stays supported. ✨ Not imprinting the spine in supine exercises Before moving the legs or arms, gently imprint the lower back into the mat by engaging the deep core. This stabilises the pelvis and prevents the lower back from taking over the movement. ✨ Inactive feet on the footbar Instead of relaxing the feet or resting on the heels, actively push through the heels with the feet flexed. This helps connect the movement to the glutes and posterior chain. ✨ Arching the lower back Avoid letting the lower back collapse. Gently tuck the pelvis and engage the deep core to support the spine. ✨ Hand placement on the bar Wrap the thumb over the bar rather than underneath it. This creates better wrist alignment and more stable shoulder support. ✨ Shifting weight away from the working leg in lunges Instead of dropping the hips toward the middle, send the hips slightly backwards and place most of your body weight into the bent leg. This allows the glute to actually activate. Pilates isn’t about bigger or faster movements. It’s about better connection and control. And sometimes the smallest adjustment makes the exercise ten times more effective. Save this for your next Pilates session. For so many years during my modeling career, I thought the more intense the workout, the better. If there was a high-intensity class in New York City… I had tried it. But most of them left me feeling exhausted, inflamed, and anything but energized. Then I met a ex-ballerina who introduced me to Pilates, and everything shifted. It was the first time movement felt mindful , like I could actually connect my body and mind instead of fighting against myself. I fell in love with that feeling a the results followed. It’s what inspired me to become a Pilates instructor, a certified personal trainer, and to dive deeper into the world of fitness. I was having a conversation with a friend of mine in the industry (he’s a biochemist), and we were talking about how extreme the health and wellness world has become. Everything is presented as “all or nothing.” He looked at me and said, “But balance doesn’t sell.” And honestly… that’s when it clicked. No wonder so many women feel overwhelmed and confused. There’s no magic workout and no quick fix. You have to find movement that works for your body, something that empowers you, excites you, and actually makes you feel good. That’s how you build a routine that’s truly sustainable for u!! For me, that was the blend of Pilates and strength training. It changed everything. I feel stronger, more toned, and more confident in my body than ever before by lifting weights and adding pilates into the routine.

POV your Pilates instructor showed you these moves and now your lower abs are snatched and your core is tight 🔥 The slower you move, the more effective. The last exercise is extra slow👌 Try these and get whipped for Spring: Reverse Plank Single Leg Lifts 4 x 12 Hollow Rock to Knee Taps 3 x 12 Foam Roller Bridge March 4 x 10 Glute Bridges 3 x 15 Why Pilates with a foam roller is so effective for deep core: The roller creates instability, which forces your deep core muscles to switch on for stabilization. Instead of just “working abs,” you’re training pelvic control and true core strength from the inside out. Slow, controlled movement + instability = deeper activation and that tight, snatched lower ab feeling 🔥 ➡️ Share this with your Pilates Bestie

6 truths about your Pilates instructor ✨ 1. We actually get jealous that you get to do Pilates I know it sounds funny, but it’s true 😂 We often teach at crazy hours, especially when it’s our full-time job. I personally get jealous when my clients get to move first thing in the morning while I’m already on my second or third class. 2. One hour of teaching feels like three hours of work Teaching is exhausting. We pour so much energy into every single session, creating routines, syncing music, keeping the levels right, managing the room temperature, making sure no one falls off, cueing constantly, projecting our voice, demonstrating, smiling… even on tough days. It’s a lot more than it looks. 3. Coffee is basically our lifeline ☕️ We rely on caffeine to stay alert and fully present. Our brains are working like calculators, scanning bodies, analysing movement patterns, and making constant micro-adjustments so you can move safely and effectively. 4. If we walk past you without saying anything, that’s a good thing It usually means you’re doing it really well. Our job is to correct when something’s off, so silence often equals success. We haven’t forgotten about you, you just don’t need as much hands-on attention as you think. 5. Those 10–15 minutes between classes are our recharge time After 45–50 minutes of nonstop cueing, moving, walking, and creating, we need a moment to reset. If we’re quiet between classes, please don’t take it personally - it’s so we can fully show up for the session you paid for. 6. We get sick of our own playlists Yes, really 😂 After teaching 4–5 classes back to back, hearing loud music for hours can be… a lot. Sometimes all we want after class is silence - or a simple conversation. That’s why playlists change often! That’s just six, but I hope this gives you a little perspective from our side ✨🤍 Studio: @sixthhouse_studio #pilates #reformer #instructor #fyp #trend

Social media loves the “I quit my 9-5 to follow my dreams” narrative. But let’s talk about the reality of keeping your corporate job, whilst exploring your passion. You don’t have to blow up your financial security to ignite your passion. I’m a Tech Marketer and a Pilates instructor. It’s not always aesthetic, but it is fulfilling. Here’s how I make the dual-career life work without burning out: 1. Boundaries are non-negotiable: When I’m at the studio, my laptop is shut. When I’m at my desk, my grip socks are off. No bleed-through. 2. Radical Honesty: My managers at the office and the studio know about each other. Eliminating the guilt of a double life freed up so much mental space. 3. Energy over Time: I stopped trying to give 100% to everything at once. There will be times when one will become more important than the other, and it’s important to maintain some flexibility. So if you’re feeling stuck in your corporate job, then maybe this is your sign to start exploring the things that light you up.
